vanilla medieval 2 - cant start a new grand campaign
I played campaigns before i unpacked with unpacker tool.
After I unpacked files, I entered vanilla medieval2 and when I had choosen my faction in menu and clicked ==> , it sends me back to the menu.
I can play the campaigns that I saved, but I can not start a new one.

It should have nothing to do with if the memory does not fail me.
Delete the two geography files?
Delete the map.rwm?

The two geography files were deleted before because they caused custom battle CTD.
When I deleted map.rwm, I still cant access and keep getting back to menu, after that I checked the data/map/base and found that map.rwm created itself again, that means no matter how much times I delete it, it will still respawn when I choose faction in grand campaign.

What other changes have you made?
What does the log show? Kick Back to Menu usually shows up in there.

At the top of the medieval2.preferences.cfg put
[log]
to = logs/M2TW.system.log.txt
level = * trace
and see what happens.
Be sure to set the file to read-only to keep the game from overwriting it.
