    Hulksuru, an epic adventure begins!

Hulksuru is a fantasy epic tale, set in an alternate universe. In Hulksuru, fantastical creatures dwell among the many differing humanoid people and vastly different cultures of this mysterious world. The story features numerous civilizations that are all vying for supremacy in a harsh world, where power is everything.

    Prologue:

The Emperor of Hulksuru waved his hand smiling at the cheering crowds. Today was a special day, they had won their war against the aggressive invaders, Ragnorock. To their delight, the Emperor had allowed the citizens of his empire to view the defeated kingdom. Once a mighty kingdom, the Emperor had utterly smashed them in the battles ahead. Though it was no easy choice, nor was it by luck. It had taken a lot of common sense to defeat Ragnorock for they were no fools. Every opponent that Ragnorock had faced became annihilated.
And today? Today you would ask yourself, do you feel proud? Most citizens did. The capital of Hulksuru was an massive citadel. The streets of the sprawling complex gleamed with rising blue diamonds as it was theenergy source of the Empire. Though they were cluttered with street vendors selling all their spoils of war gathered from it. The sun shone brightly and held proudly at the sky while plants and seaweed lay huddled together behind the city's walls. The cobbled houses were arrayed in rows with great largedoors and small windows.

The tower stood in the middle of the citadel. Shaped like a curled up roll it stood there defiant, unbudging and refusing to move. Through the middle it was shaped like a cake sitting on the top while resting it's bugling weight over the surface. Bridges sprawled from all ten corners, spread out and stretched to their limit. Hulksuru was a water island surrounded by vast mountains.
It was a day to celebrate as it was the anniversary of King Hulksuru, who had lead the Hulksurian people to a new land when they fled from their homeland as it had been ravaged by the dragons of Hawak. This victory seemed perfect and complete.

The Ragnorockians were herded like cattle. Their blonde and ginger beards flung on their faces while their attitude seemed glum. They had been defeated, but not only that, they had lost their land to the Hulksurians. Their weapons snatched from them, their courage and bravery had been swapped for cowardice. No longer were they the feared giants of the North. They were small moving men huddled in chains. The Chief of Ragnorock held his face high, unable to accept that he had lost, he maintained the Emperor had been losing that battle before he won it.
It would not be worth it.

The citizens jeered and booed at them, throwing rotten vegetables or their stinky smelly clothes that the cleaners hadn't bothered to do. A defeated people hung their head in shame. The Emperor only had sympathy. If it had been him, he would have treated them with pride. But circumstances differed. The Ragnorockians hadn't treated his people any likely either when they had raided his lands and stolen food, livestock and the money, including woman. It was said that Hulksurian woman were to be the most beautiful woman in the entire continent. That therefore caused more hatred. The possession was led by the soldiers wearing helmets and armed with swords and shields. Victorious after their conquest of Ragnorock, no longer would they be under the impression that they would be defeated again.

Once the procession had been over, the Emperor held a meeting with the chief of Ragnorock outside the city While the Ministers and the Nobility sat on opposite sides, the Empress and the Emperor sat in the middle, with the Grand Wizard and the Empress.

'' What do you want? '' The chief hissed.
    The emperor smiled sadly.
'' Ever since we fought our wars, I have had respect for you Ragnorockians. You are an brave people and you wouldn't give up, even when we herded you up here. But I cannot forgive you for what you did to my people. ''
'' Get on with it, '' the Chief hissed once more.
'' I will- '' But the Emperor never got to finish it. Suddenly a large cataclysmic wave erupted from nowhere, flooding onto the citadel. Pushing and cutting through buildings with the enormous weight of gravity and force being pulled together. The Grand Wizard attempted to halt the waves with his power, but as the saying went, it was always better to work with nature than be against it. People ran in their hundreds, but all was in vain, as everyone became gobbled up in the massive. Only the Grand Wizard survived after it had finished. He looked through gasping, seeing a dark cloud rising and the laughter of something disturbing.

    A Born King

Letting the man lace up his footwear, Smarv took a gulp from a goblet, savouring the cold liquid. Five days march and then we will prepare the defences. Another five and then I will let Bonifatius know exactly where we are. "Fifteen days from now the fate of our kingdom will have been decided."

Fluvius paused for a second, his lips tugging sharply in to a grin.

We are all animals it seems, Smarv noted grudgingly, his own grin showing teeth.

My Fantasy Sci-Fi Novel, Neck of Ivory: Book I of The Shinoro

    The excerpt chapters are here:

    http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showt...2#post13833132

The year is 736, seven centuries after the founding of Nemov, paramount metropolis of the Empire, and four thousand years after the founding of the Empire of Tarakia.

The War of the Jester’s Crown, a conflict of succession and secession, has ended, along with the conquest of the Harlequin Isles.
The Tenrya Alaia Minechira, the witch empress Imira, is ailing, having taken retreat to the catacombs of Varinal, where she mourns for the death of her lover, Beraekye Tresk, Ezom Baler, hero of the campaign in the Harlequin Isles and squire of the Masun Zeal.
Many fear the war will be repeated, as an illegitamate is heir. It is said that young Ziraga will soon abdicate to another of his mother’s line.
The war has resulted in a pyrrhic outcome. Gone are the Shinoro, the Masun Zeal, sworn protectors and archaeologists of the noble lineages and the natural order. Gone is emperor Kiirfan the White, called Kuda. Gone also, is Tre Ral, called Taro, champion of the rebellion in the Vesperine valleys and the Cradle, Ankania, and Kelmia and Tazov. Gone are the brothers Meriov.
And gone is the illusion of sanctity that has long persisted in Nemov, a city not pierced for a millennia, ravaged by the pretender Xoba’s coup, along with its empress.
The year is 736. The nobles and Centralists of great Aerador, Nemov, and Dora Heln send their scions to reconstruct the Kingdom of Maltaenia and Apriga, where the war began, now in civil strife.
