    Default overclocking the ram

    well
i have two 512 mb rams
    one with 266 Mhz
and another one with 533 mhz

the cpu z shows up my net ram speed [frequency] as 266.7 Mhz

so how to overclock the slower ram to give better output??
    i have intel NT 945 bios {chip set}

and i have onboard graphics its 128 mb shared
    how to increase that

thanks for the help in advance

DDR2-533 means 266mhz. So your ram is fine.

but i get the message after exiting the bios saying the ram modules in channel a must have same frequency or similar.

All RAM modules must be clocked the same, yes.
I'm surprised you even an option to change their seperately.

I think setting them both to 266mhz (=533 DDR) should work.

    thnx
    but it sucks
    my mobo supports 633 mhz

and i dont understand the calculation of ddr2 ram frequencies??
    "DDR2-533 means 266"

    and then what does
    figures in bios indicate
i mean for memory allocation i have following options in BIOS
    1 auto
    2 266
    3 400
    4 533
    6 633

Good mobo's always support higher RAM/FSB speeds than currently available.
This way you can upgrade in the future!
It also allows you to do serious overclocking.

And your FSB:RAM multiplier is set to 4:5, meaning your RAM is already faster than your FSB.
So your FSB is the bottleneck in your system, increasing RAM speed won't make much difference.

and i dont understand the calculation of ddr2 ram frequencies??
    "DDR2-533 means 266"
DDR stands for Double-Data-Rate. (DDR2 and DDR3 are just revised, non-compatible versions of DDR)
It means the memory transfers data two times per clock cycle (normal memory transfers just once every clock cycle).
So DDR RAM clocked at 266Mhz transfers data as fast as SDR RAM clocked at 533Mhz.

266Mhz DDR-RAM is sold as "DDR-533" to indicate how fast it is compared to SDR-RAM.

    and then what does

    1 auto
    2 266
    3 400
    4 533

I'm not sure, but auto is usually a good setting when in doubt.

The DDR2 ram frequencies are calculated the same as DDR, simply divide by 2.
So DDR(2 or not)400 ram is run at 200mhz, and so on.
