what is the point of capital cities in rome?? I took an enemies capital and nothing happened... I asked them to become protectorate after that and they still want to wage war with me.. pointless taking a capitol or what?

The capital can be easily relocated. There is no bonus for taking an enemy capital.
Where a capital is in relation to another city will effect public order and corruption. The further a city is away from its capital the more problems you will have controling it and making good profits.

But as said, losing a Capital city, should inflict HUGE loyalty problems within your/your foes kingdom. Making it far more lucrative to go after these cities...
or if your capital is destroyed, it takes three turns to make any money whatso-ever for 6 turns, and (if faction leader & heir was there) the faction becomes destroyed.
o so it can destroy a faction I see.. makes sense that the faction leader has to be there in order to destroy the faction. makes sense.. can you make a new capitol after it was taken by someone else?
Or even better, the faction is torn apart by civil war...Originally Posted by carl-the-conqueror
