Hey,
I just installed Third Age Total War, including part one of two, part two of two and the 3.2 patch. However I didn't install the 3.1 patch as I was unable to do so, also I read that it was no longer needed so I gave up on it.
Anyway when I go to load third age total war via its desktop icon it comes up with the message "Windows cannot find 'Kingdoms.exe'. Make sure you've typed the name correctly, then try again. So after this failure I loaded up steam and I had to download a 2.1gb update which I assume is related to this, but when I click play and it gives me the options for which one I want to play and I click on Teutonic (the one I replaced) it briefly goes to the load screen in which the loading mouse is a gold ring and a figure which looks like Sauroun is in the fore picture and then it suddenly cuts back to my desktop with no message or anything. I literally feel like a donkey with a carrot in front my nose on a piece of sting. I was so close.
As a bit of side information which may be necessary, I purchased both medieval 2 and the expansion pack on steam, I have Windows 8 (everything is up to date on that) and this is the file location for where I downloaded the mods C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Medieval II Total War\mods and then renamed it from third age to teutonic and the original teutonic to teutonic1.
I would really appreciate some help and would like to apologise for my stupidity.
Thanks very much.
