Okay so unfortunately Idreaus is very busy with real life issues so he has given control of the mod to me. And as such I am making a new thread so I can have direct control over the opening first post. Now this does make things more flexible but also problematic for a little bit. We need someone to do the campaign map and stratpos editing and such. I'm putting the original info up for now but I am open to changes and adjustments based off what you guys want. I've slightly changed the name to something I personally like better.

This is a Medieval Overhaul for Rome 2. It is going to add new models, textures, animations, siege weapons and more! Here's some WIP information!

At the moment I am working on some hungarian units, precisely hungarian knights, having also some german and croat COA, which I just found on a page for the hungarian national archives, so they should be pretty accurate... It is time consuming to get them on a shield but I got most ready , so for now you can expect around 9-10 variations of shield texture for the knights.
Also, beginning from this weekend I will not be able to work on the units for ca. 2 weeks, although I will still read the forum, but after that hopefully I can finish the hungarian ( I have to do most of the hungarian stuff myself since there is not too much I can import) and polish roster ( there is a lot of stuff for the polish, thanks to 1257 ad. and rus XIII century) and then we can begin working on the middle east.
I cannot promise that the we will finish them till warman has to go back to college, but even if not yet, they will receive the same care and attention as the rest.
    So, stay tuned...

Yeah, thanks, I have already seen this but for the hungarians there is only like two, for the principalities, but I wanted to include some families´ and clans´ COA as well as german and croat influence.
Also I will send you hopefully thursday my latest pack file, and you may be surprised but this pack file will be smaller or at least around the same size maybe as the one I have sent you some weeks ago, although I imported tons of stuff since that. The reason for that is, I reduced the specular and gloss_map size for all armour and weapons etc to 171 Kb, and gained a huge boost on the performance. I also made most of the shields use the same specular and gloss_map to reduce even further the strain for the system and it still looks as before but the performance is way better.
Now I think I understand why CA has a problem between having awsome graphics or better performance. You can have the most lifelike textures but you will watch a slideshow...

    Hi.

Looks quite interesting! One question though: I assume that Novgorod and Sweden won't be making it due to the lack of tools for modifying the campaign map?

Going to keep an eye on this mod!

    Hi Ygraine,

You've hit the nail on the head. Once CA releases campaign map tools, we will see about expanding the map to include more of Scandinavia and Russia.

Just a minor update, I'm taking a break from the new modding work for a couple days. Feeling down from real life stuff atm and I'm just not up to working on this stuff right now. I might make another battle scene though, we'll see. If I can be totally honest this mod is one of the few things that brings me happiness right now...

Sorry for my english, I'm french.
I propose a campaign map: it isn't historical with the mongol empire but it's the best solution. Vassals (=satrapy in rome 2) aren't in this map but we can see the tributary states (=client state in rome 2).
Almohade will be in war with Castille, Aragon, Portugal and Leon. Papal states will be in war with county of Toulouse and will be allied with all of the catholic states. France (+Duchy of Brittany) will be in war with England, the Holy-Empire, the duchy of Brabant and Flanders. Empire of Nicaea will be in war with the sultanat of the Rum. Latin empire (+Kingdom of Thessalonica) will be in war with the despotate of Epirus and bulgarian empire.
    I only propose this diplomacy.

I give to the team the list of the rulers in 1212. If it isn't exact, I can't find the "good" ruler in this period and I often take a leader in this state in a "near" period (except for arab tribes). If the names are french or spanish.., the leaders came from France or Spain...

    Kingdom of England: John I

    Principality of Galicia-Volhynia: Daniel
    Prussian tribes: Glande (not exact)
Latin Empire: Henri I (vassal: Kingdom of Thessalonica: Demetrio)

Now, I have done the list of capitals with the "original" map (if the nation have more than one region).

    Kingdom of England: Camulodunon

    Kingdom of Castile: Numantia
    Almohade Dynasty: Migdol

    Kingdom of Denmark: Alabu

    Kingdom of Hungary: Akink
    Second Bulgarian Empire: Odessos
    Kingdom of Poland: Budorgis
    Principality of Galicia-Volhynia: Galic
Latin Empire: Henri I : Antheia(vassal: Kingdom of Thessalonica: Pella)

    Cuman-Kipchak Confederation: Solokha ?

    Khwarazmian Empire: Maracanda
    Mongol Empire: Bukhara

    Ayyubid dynasty: Memphis
    Empire of Nicaea: Ephesus
    Sultanate of Rum: Iconium
    Arab tribes: Gerrha?
    Abbasid Caliphate of Baghdad: Babylon
    Empire of Trebizond: Trapezos
    Kingdom of Georgia: Mtskheta

I have change my proposal. Now, in Olbia, I propose to play as "Principality of Kiev" and Iader is in the "Banate of Croatia". http://postimg.org/image/p5x33trjr/

Well, the County of Flanders looks huge on your map. I know we can't mod the map for now but 2 territories looks big, no ?

The county of Flanders was very important in the battle of Bouvines in 1212. The first latin emperor was also the county of Flanders in 1204. And it's more historical. By the 13th century, Ghent (in Flanders) was the biggest city in Europe after Paris. Bruges was also an important place for the trade. Ferrand was the portuguese king's son.
BBBBBBBBBUUUUUUUUTTTTTTTT! I agree with you. I will change my proposal.

I know and I always think that I only propose a suggestion! But I have worked a lot to research a good idea for you. I will change my "word". Unfortunately, I haven't see a campaign map since the "old thread". It's only to help you. It was very long to find all of the information. I hope that you will use it to do your mod (for the first or a later update).
    Is it better now?
