    Who is the first faction leader? As far as I know we only have an Empire of Nikaea, correct? Is it the Latin emperor? Looks like the same person, though. Would be awesome if one could take the Empire of Nikaea and convert it to the Byzantine Empire if one reclaimed enough land.

    We actually have nicaea, trebizond and also epirus as playables, so you will have the option to unite the empire of nicaea and trebizond into the "roman empire" . Another scenario would be to just reclaim constantinople ( it will be hard, though) and thus revive the roman empire as well.

    would that make Constantinople the capital?

    I'm not sure if we can do that.

    Anyways I've been working on adjusting the metal textures on my units, to more closely resemble the much more snazzy way Ltd got his to look. The results have been quite stunning! Behold a before and after.

    Strange that in some screenshots (like in #2, #4 and #6) helmets & armament really look metallic, but not in the others. So is it just the lighting?

    Thanks everybody! I was playing around in the mod a bit, and I found a perfect chance and took some a couple of screens of the Pavisiers unit that France gets later on. With the new metal textures sights like below look very striking.

    Good bye nice looking textures. Hello weird glowstick shaders. =/

    The shader needs to be toned down because those weird dark spots occur and that kinda looks weird.

    Yes! This was just the change I was hoping for. Great work warman! Also, dark diffuse layers go great with this style of lighting/shading

    Great work with the new metal textures, they really help in making the units look more realistic.

    That's just fantastic. What a jump in quality. Before and after, night and day. Now the units look as they should be. I can't wait to get my hands on them.

    So I'm still not quite ready to show Burgundy yet but here's a glimpse of a type of unit for relatively lesser factions like Burgundy. While Burgundy early on is almost a France clone, they do have a different unit from the Voulgier units. They get a Schriltron unit. A type of pike unit instead. Here's a few screens showing them in action:

    The western armors are pretty but they look a bit simplistic in comparison to the rest.
    Perhaps you could stylish it out a bit, like this;

    These are very nice models my friend.
    I mean no offense but they are very reminiscent of mount and blade models.
    Did you port them from there?

    The helmets, weapons and the shield model are taken from various OSP stuff so yeah. The shield is retextured though and the body armor is either vanilla or retextured vanilla. Also their spear models were altered from their OSP version. The banner in that one screen is a custom model. We've actually died down on OSP models overall, the main stuff you'll see being OSP and weapons, helmets and shields, and even then they're often retextured. Incidentally, Slytacular, a person who made stuff for OSP is now a team member for MK, working on custom helms for the Swedish faction as well as new helmets in general. I suppose that more than adequately answers your question.

    Yes indeed.
    OSP or not, the work that has been done in this mod is admirable.
    As a matter of fact I would recommend that if your team find OSP models to be adequate they should not give up on them and instead deploy their energies to making more factions rather than remodelling the existing ones.
    It was a tricky thing to ask as I know some people who would think I asked this in a derogatory mood.
    My modelling "philosophy" is "Take what is good, build what you can on it and give it back so that others can keep building".
    (BTW, plus rep)

    What the European helmets are missing are the decorative helm tops;

    Now, I understand that they are not easy to model, but perhaps at least for the captains/generals/faction leaders?
