I think they're hoping for a custom battle demo for the Fall. Then we get to work testing the unit balance and make suggestions in that regard (since the combat will have to be rethought from the ground up, this will take a while).

From what I understand, only after all the combat side of things is sorted out will anyone get to work on ESF editing, the building list, UI, etc. I would expect this project to take quite some time to be "finished", but with development milestones along the way. Hopefully CA will see fit to release map editing tools with enough time to be of use to this mod. After all, without them we'll basically be playing a bunch of knights fighting over ancient marble cities.

Gotta another video to show, this one is the Teutonic Order units under the service of Hungary fighting Poland. I'm kind of cheating here with this one since according to the showcase poll Hungary and Poland weren't not too high, but because I figured a lot people love the TO I would do it anyways.

Got a 5th part out everybody! This one is featuring the bonus unit: CATAPULTS. Part of a big fight between France and HRE. Also for the record I have no idea how many parts I'm doing and I might do factions for multiple parts. I was thinking of doing one with Nicaea vs Venice for instance.

I ABSOLUTELY love this mod! Only, in the video, I noticed a lot of thrusting kills with axes and maces. Doesn't this engine allow for "hacking" or bashing depending on the weapon? Sorry, but I haven't played RTW2, so I have no knowledge of the engine.

No because the developers of the game decided that axes and clubs don't need their own animations so have them sword animations instead. They though no one knew how to zoom in. The reasoning behind it is also complete bollocks.
