Old campaign map

Hi there,

First, congratulation to everyone involved with DeI, this is a truly awesome mod.

I just started with 0.95, and the only thing that irks me is the new campaign map / minimap colors. Would it be possible for me to mod it out and use the old/default one?

Yes you can remove the custom campaign map by simply deleting the campaign_maps folder in the mod pack.

You will need to open the mod pack using pack file manager for Rome II

Well then, you are in luck! You can enjoy the new campaign map this very instant by simply not deleting anything!

I actually think I like the new maps, but I find it makes it harder to get a grasp of regional borders, which is useful for gauging an enemy's strength and planning expansion. This is further complicated by the highly variable size and shape of regions.

Are you planning on tweaking the maps any, or are they basically how you want them now?

The new maps also do not show regional resources. It is nice if you want to look at the geography of the region, but it is not as informative as the old map can be at a glance.

Maybe not everybody knows how to use the pack file manager..

If someone can manage to play Rome II, they'll have no troubles with Pack File Manager. It's a very intuitive program. Just load DeI, select campaign_maps, push the delete key, and save.

And yeah, getting familiar with PFM is really useful to tweak the game to your liking; earlier reforms, new units to your faction, different uniform colors, etc. Give it a try!

I will look into adding the resources to the new map. For the most part, though, I think it looks great and adds a level of realism and immersion to the game.

Ya i agree, i admit it took me 5 minutes to get used to it, but it sure adds a more darker and immersive view of the world and i really like it.
