Default Hope we get the technology tree poster

We got large glossy posters in M1 and Rome with a clear breakdown of the technology tree.

Here's hoping we get the same again, especially as the there seems to be a large number of Guilds and structures that are going to be available. I am sure that even veteran players would find a technolgy tree diagram usefull in their first go at the new game.

I surely hope so. My Rome map is now in about 4 pieces from all the use I gave it. Much reflection was incurred staring at that map. The tech tree is available in game using the building browser. The map tho, imo, is indispensable.

The poster is exclusive in the first patch for the US and is standard if you buy the UK special edition.

I have to agree - I love tech tree maps and posters in my strategy games... they're brilliant for when you first start out, and it's always so exciting looking at all the possibilities for the very first time! Totally hope this is included with Medieval 2... only 2 and a half weeks left!

    why are they your weakness?

    yes, why?

the map is helpful, but i think it's necessary. i mean, games need to tell you the features you can use. without such literature on game features, controls, dynamics, etc. you can't fully utilize the product.

i hope that they include not only a map, but a tech tree, and a little booklet with fun stuff and info.

....i've pre-ordered the limited edition from EB, will i get the map?

Cause I can't resist a game, no matter how rubbish it may be, if it has a map in it. I don't know why. Maybe in a previous life I was a map myself. We just don't know.

They should give us like 10 maps with province boundaries. That way we can track our campiagns, army movements, etc. etc. Also, it would be a record of our greatest campaings and acheivments.

The tech tree for a Total war game? This isn't Civilization IV people. A toddler wouldn't have trouble understanding a TW TT. It could fit on two pages in the manual. :tooth:

yea i put $5 down on a copy to pick up, it should be one of the first printouts with at least a map. i had forgotten all about the map for rtw till i read thsi thread, i just got it out and planned out my venice conquests
as said before, it may be hard to get tech trees for every faction, but couldnt they do like a muslim and catholic tech tree, and instead of specific unit names but heavy infantry or light infantry ect.

at least a tech tree for guilds.

I think that they have improved the ingame tech tree vastly, so we won't really need that much of a written tech tree.
for the map, is there going to be a map viewable in game that shows us who owns every province? I really liked this feature in Shogun, because you could see how the wars were going in all the different areas of the map.
I didn't see a feature like this is Rome. I would never have any idea how things were going on the other sides of the map.

would be nice, but-map information. as venice, i plan on sending a diplomat to russia to get an alliance and see if i can make it last very long, then send 2 to the balkans/eastern europe. 2 to north africa, and 2 to asia minor. this way i can see whats going on and get any map information needed asap, along with exploring if i cant afford the deals. after conquering ill move them to europe for my next conquers, this way they can make any deals to keep my war focused on one, two countries at max at any time. so if im killing france or hre, ill try to make any deals with one or the other to stay out of it for x amount of turns so i can conquer it first.
