I had a thought today, would it be possible to have the Dignitaries work as Legates? That you "hire" a Family Character and assign him, and later you can recall him by assigning another Character to that Dignitary unit"?

This would perhaps ad a nice immersion to the game like in the old days when a character could be both general or govenor?

Or is this one other "unmoddable" area of the game like the Family tree?

    Thoughts and suggestions are appriciated

PS: Hope that it's ok to make a thread instead of just going to the suggestion are

I had actually suggested this in another thread, no modder replied to it yet but I am pretty certain such is beyond the reach of our beloved modders

Perhaps, another way were to increase the army cap to use generals as govenors(gives them a bodyguard to ) but this might not work properly with the AI...

Unfortunately I don't think this is possible as far as I know.

Would it be possible to have a new unit implemented? Like a "Govenor" general unit that gives bonuses so that the army is less of a PO negativity while that general unit is in play? but to make it balanced that unit has less power on a battlefield if not leveled??

so, the "governor" general unit could be made to affect public order differently? can a single unit have its own effect? Also, I'm not sure if it's possible, but perhaps you could limit the number of units in an army based off of the type of general recruited. if it is so, then the 'governor' type could be limited in that regard as well as in combat.

Someone recently mentioned in the Bugs thread that generals should have a new stance (to replace the long since removed forced march stance).

This stance, when activated, should give public order benefits to wipe out the -ve public order from the general's character. However this stance should also impart a massive disadvantage to the army if attacked.

Therefore generals can be governors again.

But wasn't the forced march stance removed because the AI used it too often and got ambushed all the time? The disadvantage when attacked shouldn't be too extreme.

I like this idea, could work pretty well. Would have to balance it with the new PO system.

Edit: Although I don't think generals can garrison and also go into a stance, because the garrison is actually a stance?

Strangely enough, I had already suggested this idea and devs also discussed this. Perhaps, I can ask CA for some insight into this.

Y you guys should figure out how to increase public order without generals as governors. Increasing Dignitaries number and giving them nice administrative skill tree is one idea.
