Okay, so I want to play my Medieval games again. I can't play number 1 because it's no longer supported in Windows 8. (Boo Microsoft, wouldn't know a good game if it hit them in the face.) Any way! Now my Medieval 2 won't install. It comes up with "Feature Transfer Error" it continues the installation without closing down, but it just hangs from that point onward.

I have emailed Sega, and they just told me to clean the disc... the discs are completely unscathed. -_-" So they then told me to activate my game via Steam. But I got Medieval 2 Total War before it even had Steam support, so I don't even have a recognized code. Are they likely to give me one? Or will I have to buy another copy. -_-" Because right now it's $20 on steam, and I only paid $10 for it as physical copy. :/

So does anybody know how to fix this error? I can't even copy my files from the disc as others have suggested. I even tried finding an old PC with the game still installed. Would it be any different if I downloaded the game somewhere else and put in my CD key? Or does it have to be the game off my disc?

T_T I just want to wreak havoc over medieval Europe...
