    Default Creating a Pike/Skirmishing unit

    I'm trying to create a unit that uses javelins at range with the "Form Pike Wall" ability. It seems I can get them to do one or the other by changing the category or class, but when I try to make them form a pike wall as the missile class, their javelins disappear and they no longer have a weapon. When I try to get them to use ranged attacks as pike troops, it seems like the throwing animation gets interrupted every time and they don't do anything. Any help would be great!

    You need to give them a weapon on attach point one (spear, lance, pike) to use in the phalanx. Javelins are a projectile and are on attach point 5. Do this by changing the unit's variantmeshdefiniton.

    You will also need to edit the animations, you've got to give the pike animation a javelin fragment. Check this tutorial out on how to edit animations.

    Thank you. Now, other pikemen stab when enemies come into contact, while my custom pikemen are only useful during charges, and then they allow the opposition to walk in and engage with swords. There is no pike stabbing animation. Where in the file is this located, or how do I fix it? How do I add "Formation attack" to a unit?

    It is another animation fragment, I think pike matched combat.
