    Default Gallic voicemod

After a long time of waiting, it's finally done. Tested and works in Vanilla RTW...

In Vanilla it sounds a bit weird because the soldiers still reply with "barbarian warband!" or "forester warband" when you click them, but the orders shouted are gallic at least..

When we record the unit_names from EB for the next version of the gallic voicemod, it will sound much more natural.

I haven't tested how to get it working with EB yet.. I might test some now.
We'll eventually have a holistic solution to this stuff.

Sure. Latin voicemod overwrites the "Roman_" voices, Gallic overwrites the "Barbarian_" ones.
Of course, ALL factions in the "Barbarian" culture group will then be speaking Gallic.
This isn't ideal of course.. but in due time, we'll have covered the rest.

This is because...you can assign a different culture to different barbarian groups...IE thracian, german, gallic, iberian? Thanks to 1.5?

No, but there are 5 different voice types per voice culture. The Gallic mod overwrites the General_1 voice type and so as long as all your celtic units use the voice type General_1 and all the other units from the same culture use the different voice types then only celtic units will use the gallic voice mod. The only case where this is not the case is for battle event messages; these are trans-culture and cannot be split up.

Actually, this Gallic mod overwrites ALL barbarian.. that includes Barbarian_General_1 , Barbarian_Heavy_1, Barbarian_Medium_1, Barbarian_Light_1
    not female_1 because thats irrelevant.

That way there wont be any ENGLISH voices sneaking in.. based on what kind of unit gives the order.
Once we have voicemod for other languages in the Barbarian culture, like protogermanic, we will differentiate using voice_types.
    General,Heavy,Medium so on..

Though I have a theory that we can rename or make up new voice_types using EDSUV.TXT - so instead of calling it "General_1" we could in fact call it "Gallic_1." Again, this is just a theory.. havent tested yet.

Well done! This will make things so much more atmospheric. Now all we need is a Greek voice mod to put the icing on the cake...

KA ...I've already offered my body in gratitude to Shig, but have yet to do so for you! I can't thank you enough for this brilliant work. Extremely indebted mate.

    You did great m8!

    NOTE:

Me and King_Azzole noticed a slight error. For some reason, while they were charging they yelled "chaaarge" - so I've removed the mod temporarily while I see what this can be. :hmmm:

When I release it again, I will also include the soundfiles for "infantry" (neitam) and "cavalry" (epos), so that modders can implement some form of generic replies for the unit_names..

I don't have the diskspace requred for many mods... The only one for RTW I'll be installing will be EB for 1.5, period.

This mod is around 4mb, and will eventually be part and parcel of EB (assimilated).

Yes, but I don't want to loose the original. So I have to (AFAIK) make a copy of whole RTW directory. I'll have to make room for EB, but that will be a pleasure.

Just asking something. I have seen all this voicemods and I think that Armenia have been forgotten. Do Armenia will speak a Greek voice mod or something totally different?

    Thanks =)

I'm going to begin working on that again once 0.8.0. I would have gotten round to it sooner, but 0.8 needed my help and so I answered the call.

Read post #11. The mod is temporarily down. Sorry for the inconvenience we found a small bug and wanted to release it bugfree. It should be back up by the latest friday. I have tested it in game and I must say it gave me goosebumps. Shigawire did an awsome job on prepping the sound files.
