    Default Confused about Suebi roster

So I've just started a new campaign as the Suebi and they seem to have a number of units that appear very similiar:

I've got two club infantry the slokhonz and the sloxonez. The slokhonz cost 360 with 60 upkeep and the sloxonez cost 240 with 72 upkeep. The Sloxonez have +2 attack, - 1 defence and +2 charge.

The other issue is I have 3 near identical spear units, the Gaisofulxo Frijod, gaisoletho aljod and the gaisofulkho. Now all these units cost the same and have the same upkeep and the gaisofulxo frijod and the gaisofulkho have the exact same stats except that the gaisofulkho have +13 morale. The gaisoletho aljod had the same morale as the gaisofulkho but have -3 attack, -3 defence.

Now I imagine this issue is caused by my having access both to my factional troops as well as the AOR levies. However as you can see this has created too many units that appear to do the exact same thing, with some rather odd stats and price differences.

Is this intended or is it some sort of oversight, as I am finding it very confusing to work out what units are actually factional. Any help would be appreciated!

They are probably the AoR version of your faction's units, as you have said. We will be tagging AoR units with the (AOR) tag in the name for 0.95.

Ah thought so, that's good to know. Maybe the Barbarians shouldn't have access to their own version of AOR troops? Not sure if that's possible but it would help with the double ups.

If it would be possible then none faction would have access to AoR version of their core units.

Yes I am looking into doing something along those lines to prevent some of the early game double ups.

Good to hear... also whilst I see KAM here, I heard that your doing something about the current combat balance, is that right? Because I think we have a serious problem regarding the effectiveness of deadliness. I've just witnessed my club men absolutely decimating elite infantry due to having higher deadliness (3 compared to 1). I was kind of thinking why not just do away with deadliness and initiative all together? Would that not make the whole issue of balancing simpler?

Adding the 'AOR' tag will be greatly appreciated!

That is my plan. Maybe give little deadliness to Romans to represent fact that if they hold the line, they will emerge victorious in long run.

My balance system is not yet official, I just have some ideas based on my previous experience with balancing of mods. I don't know if I will even have time to do it. No ine gave me this job

Best of luck mate, I really just think that initiative and deadliness are just not needed. We still have all the same tools in regards to combat balance as in previous total wars (bar secondary wep stats) so I see no reason to include them at all.

EDIT: Also if you want some help with testing give me a shout, I can mod Rome 2 a little (unit stats anyway) so yeah, let me know if you need help.

From my experience though, those clubs units aren't AoR. They've been there since before the AoR system was introduced. The only real difference, apart from the minor stats as mentioned, is that one has access to wedge, and the other doesn't. It's a bit strange, but certainly manageable.

True enough. They were present before the implementation of the AOR system, I adressed the problem a few days after the revamp of the Suebi faction but got no real answer as to why. Not that big a deal though.
Same as Ano2, I too am willing to help out in any way I can with balancing the units if needed KAM 2150. Played around with the stats myself. So dont hesistate to give me a PM

This is not only a suebi/ AoR issue. Ever looked at the Iceni unit rooster? There are so much overlapping or nearly identical units, itīs just crazy...
