I´m still not able to get Roma Surrectum 3 to work...
I have Windows 10 and the Steam Version of Rome and BI (Gold Version), both Vanillas are working.
Am I assuming right, that my only chance to play the Mod with steam is to buy the Alex Add-On?

I also have the CD-Version of Rome and BI, but this Vanilla doesn`t work with my windows 10.

The Steam version of Rome Total War breaks RS because the executable files (.exe) are different from the CD version. CA/Steam allege they had to change the RTW/BI .exe files in order to make it work on the Steam website, dvk 901 tried every conceivable solution and none worked, I'm afraid if you want to play RSIII in steam you will need RTW Alexander expansion but it's very cheap nowadays

There were some differences with Alex if I remember correctly, like no Shieldwall but less weird Phalanxes, or was there more?

I'm sure you can buy Alexander on steam. Shieldwall, swimming units and conducting more naval invasions were prevalent on BI, whereas ALX has a more efficient engine, gives you a slightly better battle AI which can also retrain units where possible plus improved phalanx co-ordination.

Yeah, I have the same problem, I wanted to download the RS 3.1 yesterday and I can't. I'd really like to try this mod out again, since I've repaired my old computer. The 2.6 version was amazing.

Well, I installed this one from ModDB:

Now I still need the 3.1 patch. I don't think there's a torrent for 3.1 patch.

What happened to RS? It seems like it was in steady development and then just kind of dropped off the face of the Earth.

I agree though that we need a permanent place to host the files lest they get lost forever.

Roma Serrectum is probably the only Rome: TW mod I still love.

This is a common problem with many players, especially if your OS is Win 10 and you are using steam. I don't, I have Win 7 & disks and hardly have any the problems I reply to on this forum. If you go to post #4 & #6 on this link https://www.twcenter.net/forums/show...5#post15629975 ...I have answered questions and given suggestions of what I have done to make my games run smooth and well, I have had very few issues in the 5 years I have been playing TW. Also be aware that RS has a huge amount of content and it requires a good cpu(at least 2.8 GHz) + psu(at least 500 watts) to run it reasonably efficiently. My system is a self build with 6 cores x 3.5GHz, 8 gig RAM and 650 watts psu, my fps fluctuates between 25 and 60 depending on scenario but rarely interferes with my game.

Is there any obvious way to tell if patch 3.1 is active, seeing as from another thread the game will not show 3.1.
