By this I mean, if I put two or more dignitaries in a single province, will I get the effects of all them?

I think there's a limit of 2 per province, because when i tried it before one of my 3 dignitaries kept losing his 'active' stance. But yes having 2 works and has effects.
hm... I use all 4 of my dignitaries in the same province. Whenever I upgrade the tax trait for any of them my tax income does go up. based on that I think all 4 stack.
It is often very difficult to tell because there are so many modifiers going on like with the seasons, world wonders, various traits and household items, generals, buildings etc etc etc. Also, sometimes when I upgrade my dignitaries with the tax trait, sometimes my income will increase on the turn I upgrade them, but other times it appears to have no effect until the next turn. Occasionally when I have ordered a dignitary to perform their passive ability in a province, my income has actually gone down. This is either because a) they had some negative trait that reduced income or b) because they were replacing the effects of some other agent. Not sure which.
Would be nice if someone actually knew definitively how this works.
For me it does not seem to stack. It appears, the dignitary with the highest boost to tax income "takes over". That's in relation to tax (and counter-agent defense). Culture conversion seems to stack though.
