Hello TIW-Players,

I'm afraid to inform you that we have to postpone the release of Version 4.0.
Likely end of August or beginning of September.

As there are still so many things to do and we can't get all of them done till 31.07.
So please be patient and enjoy the Battle Betta
Of course the contest will be continued till 26.08.

To keep you up to date:

Right now we test the events of the Swabian League and the none faction specific as well.

The next step is to integrate the events for the Signoria of Florence and the Grand Duchy of Tuscany. This will take some time, but won't take that long
Also we are fiddle about the new units for the Kingdom of Hungary.
Complete new models are going to get:

• Uskoks (If you don't get their meaning, just pm me and I'll post the german names, not sure about the english ones )
• Haidouk
• Black Sword Guardsmen
• Hungarian Hussars
• Royal Banderium
• Hungarian Noble

Also we have worked out some new and nice events for the Ottoman Empire and the Kingdom of Hungary.
Of course you will get some previews of all that stuff

Due to recent questions when this mod will be released...
Well, right now I'm finishing the event scripting, also Medici is about to get the new Hungarian units done..

So after everything is checked and seems accurate to us it will be released.
Probably between the end of this month or the next

Hey there,

here are some picture of some last changes:

The Spear Militia unit have now an Awl-Pike which fits much more in our timeframe





Right now everythings seems quite well for a release on next Saturday, so we hope for the best
The only two things which need to be done are, a new general battle model for the Hungarians and the unit info cards for the rebels

we are looking for support for our team.
Sadly, Marlborough had to leave due to some health issues (all the best wishes),
so there is a free position in our team as a "Researcher".

Your tasks:
Basicly research especially for Italian City States, but for the Balkan and Northern Africa as well.
Writing faction, unit and building descriptions.

So if you are interested in the job, just send me a pm and tell me brief why you are the right one

One more announcement!

We have come to the point that we should concentrate on our latest version 4.0.
For this version we are going to provide you a patch in the near future.
With this patch we are trying to eradicate as many bugs as possible, as well as overworking the balancing (units and factions alike) to improve the gamplay.

After that we are going to publish a new version named 5.0.
In this version we are planning to implement the minifactions and the events for the later campaign, as well as some visual changes.

Hello fellows,

so we have finished our search for bugs and problems. Many thank's to all of you, who have contributed all these problems and bugs so detailed and carfully!!

The next obvious step will be to fix and implement all these solutions and suggestions.
Of course it will take us some time, but Iskar and I, will handle that for you as fast as we can.
If everything goes well, you will have your patch probably in summer.

Dear fellows,

I would like to thank you for your outstanding support!
Thank's to your feedback, we were able to improve our mod in an ongoing process and now "The Italian Wars" do not have to stand in awe beside the other projects here on TWC!
But, I fear I have to inform you, that I will have to take some time off from all my modding work.
My study is going to start at the end of this month and I wish to have a "clear" mind
Besides, I am currently not very motivated to carry on with modding.

But no worries, that doesn't mean I will never work again on my projects TIW and IND
Probably, I am back on track by Christmas

The team and myself will work very hard during this month,
so we can finish as much as possible for you
At the end of this month TIW 5.0 beta and IND 1.0 beta will be released.
Of course not all planed features will be included, but no worries, it will be more than playable!
Afterwards, I will be at your service for any of your problems regarding our projects until I have time and passion to carry on our work

Hello folk!

we are quite at the end of this month, so it is time to let you know what exactly will be included for TIW 5.0 beta.

Strat Models (Generals, Diplomats):
- Hafsids (definitely not)
- Genoa
- Mantua
- Ferrara
- Siena
- Ragusa
- Ottomans

Units:
- Hafsids (Not very certain... )
- Genoa (Full)
- Mantua (Full)
- Ferrara (Full)
- Siena (Full)
- Ragusa (Except, probably two)

Scripts:
For all of our newly added "minifactions" there won't be any factions specific events.
However, the will be included in the existing info events, etc.
The family dynasty feature only will be available for Genoa, Ragusa, Siena and the Papal States.

UI:
- New menu by Hyretic
- Newly designed loading screens
- Newly designed maps for the factions win condition

Probably, there won't be any unit or unit info cards for all the newly created units.
(Lack of time.. )

a brief update on my current work on TIW.
I have included most of the features mentioned above.

Italian Wars - Ultimate

Content:


New Factions:

• Duchy of Urbino
• Margravate of Montferrat
• Duchy of Savoy
• Signoria of Bologna
• Hafsid Caliphate
• Borghese (Shadow faction)
• Revolting Peasants (Shadow faction)

Map: Complete overhauled and enlarged map(146*189px auf 220*290px) with 187 provinces, including 50 completely new provinces.

Units: All new factions will get a complete unit rooster. Overhauled unit rooster for Signoria of Florence after Machiavelli's reform event.

Events: Many new events for all newly added factions, along with the expansion of the already existing.

Scripts: An AoR-System with respective units, a Condotta-Script for all minor Italian factions, Funds-Script for all Generals, implementation of the Real Recruitment and Real Combat concept.

Ancillaries: For each new province there will be according ecclesiastic and worldly titles.

About 500 years ago on 7 October 1513 one of the major battles of the League of Cambrai took place near the city of Vicenza.

The Battle of La Motta

It ended in a disastrous defeat for the Venetian forces led by Bartolomeo d'Alviano. The Spanish and German forces were led by Fernando d'Avalos. Georg von Frundsberg took also part in that battle leading the German Landsknechte and slaughtered with his attack almost 5,000 Venetian soldiers. Although the Venetians were decisively defeated by the Spaniards, the League failed to follow up on this victory.
