    Factions

While I quite agree that that map looks nice, I have to disagree with the number of factions. We have about the same number of factions used right now, probably only a 1 or 2 factions more or less difference. (Factions is not something that you can easily toy around with and add as many factions as you like. There is a hard-coded limit of 25-30 factions, of which we have already used 90% of (and we have plans to fill in the remaining 10%) Fortunately, this may change in the future, due to the work of this gentleman here.

The map in the radar map window looks slightly distorted and cuts off at the bottom at a significantly higher level. Could you post the map_ground_types file to get a true impression?

The pictures indicate that the mod is at an early stage (vanilla units and no script) with the most work done in character portraits and strat models (trade resources as small villages, new settlement models). The blog is more then 4 years old, so I would think that development is abandoned, although it might have been taken over at a later stage by the current M2 Chinese RotK mod.

The area looks identical to the one we are using, just cut off a bit at the bottom.

Nice details on the map_ground_types. Curious about the 'inland' placement of port pixels, but I guess it will line up correctly with the navigable rivers in map_heights. Quite a good number of minimum size regions, those are most likely representative of fortifications or passes I guess.

All in all a nice map.

Hello i posted this question about 2 months back on mod db but never got a reply im just curious if at some point it will be possible for you to release alternate starting scenarios similar to the way the romance of the three kingdoms game does Yellow turban rebellion, Dong Zhuo's rise etc. The setup you guys use is alot like the "Rival Warlords" Scenario which is one of my favorites but i thought this would be a cool idea if it wouldn't take Tons of work to reorganize the starting locations etc several times for different scenarios.

Sorry to double post it wont let me edit my last one for some reason, my second question was are there any current plans for a larger map? The current one seems pretty accurate its just real small feeling to me. Everything is so cramped together and with the ability to build way bigger armies quicker then in vanilla it makes it seem even smaller with huge armies in such close quarters.

Making new scenarios would, in fact, be a lot of work. A Yellow Turban scenario would require not only the usual overhaul of files, but we would also have create a new faction from scratch, which would be a huge /project by itself; so together it would be a massive amount of work. We do plan on new scenarios, but not until the base version is a lot more complete.

As far as a larger map, it more than likely won't happen. We have talked about this internally and it is not something that would, in the end, ultimately be beneficial considering all of the effort. The issue you are talking about revolves around the economy, which is still a work in progress, and not necessarily because the map is too "cramped." Also, please don't post suggestions in multiple, consecutive threads. On post will be enough and we will see it.

Sorry, im still very new to forums and tend to get carried away. Thanks for the reply! This was just out of curiosity, either way the mod is great I have already logged like 70hours or more lol! I used to play alot of rotk but always wished combat was more like a total war game! Thank you guys for the work!
