A Second Attempt
Despite the rather stalemate results of the last delegation, Leonnatus attempts once more to persuade pro-Macedonian Epirus to join his Kingdom. With news of the heir of Alexander the Great dead, he was now the rightful King of Macedon in all manner. He writes a letter to the King of Epirus and his fellow city-states, desiring to reaffirm treaties between Epirus and Macedon, signed since the days of Philip II. That he wished to wed either his daughter or son and heir to a Epirus bride, even perhaps one of the royal family of Admetus II, just as Philip II did with Olympias. Leonnatus would also hope to make Epirus the center of a new league, a Second Hellenic League, The League of Argos which would work alongside the Kingdom of Macedon for a more united Balkans.
OOC: I will leave modifiers to the moderators. However, I will state some obvious positive modifiers
- Macedon is stronger compared to Epirus
- Macedon is the immediate northern neighbor of Epirus
- Leonnatus wishes to reaffirm the treaties of Philip II through marriage
- Leonnatus offers Epirus to become the head of a new Pro-Macedonian League

Re: A Second Attempt
Will the King of Epirus be pleased?
Base roll:
Pro-Macedonian opinion +1
Outnumbering Epirus 4:1 in military strength +2
Generous marriage offer +2
Generous offer of a new league +2
New roll: 17/20 chance of success
Roll: 1
The King of Epirus sends back an emmissary telling that all of Epirus would be delighted to join the new Macedon. Admetus II sends his ten-year-old daughter Demetria to Pella, offering her hand in marriage to the eldest son Leodiskos. In her flows the blood of Olympias, fourth wife of Philip II and the mother of Alexander the Great of the Argead Dynasty. Now the bloodline of these legendary me will pass on through Leonnatus and their Epirote relatives. No tribal chiefs or city councils declare any dissatisfaction with the decision and begin celebrations for Leonnatus, now called Baselius in the streets.

Re: A Second Attempt
Leonnatus, though on the field of battle, welcomes his new Greek subjects and spreads the news throughout Epirus. Macedonian officials have festivals prepared and initiated throughout the realm. Admetus II is welcomed as Leonnatus's brother and the betrothed daughter, Demetria, welcomed as his daughter. Leodiskos is betrothed to Demetria, securing the Epirote's loyalty, just as Philip II did.
