Sinope, Seat of the Kingdom of Pontus
Here Leonidas Haykeos spends his time screwing around, in a rather literal sense. WIP, obviously, but needed to get a home thread up. Gotta go to work now.

Re: Sinope, Seat of the Kingdom of Pontus
The riders were more soldiers than diplomats, indeed, they were formerly warriors of Alexander's army. However, the King Pentheus trusted them to do what he wanted them to do. Five entered the city, riding slowly towards the Imperial Palace. They requested an audience with the King, at the earliest opportunity.

A group of Thessalian noblemen arrive, many of them veterans of the famed Thessalian horse of Alexander and wish to speak to the Baliesus of Sinope

Pentheus's riders are admitted into the King's audience chambers. The Thessalians are held in the antechamber, where the Prince offers to hear them now if they do not wish to wait for the King.

One of the riders steps forward from the rest. He bows deeper than the rest, before beginning his message.
Your Magnificence, King Pentheus of the Twin Cities wishes to offer terms to see trade passing freely between our two great Kingdoms. Furthermore, He Of Thessaly wishes to propose an alliance, with the purpose of ensuring our two people's futures in Asia Minor.

The King looks very pleased. He claps his hands and speaks joyfully to the men.
"The Kingdom of Pontus would be happy to accept both offers, my friends. In fact, if your lord would like, I shall invite him here to have a feast to commemorate the alliance."

The envoys bowed deeply.
It shall be done, they promised with a smile.

"Excellent. We shall make arrangements for such an event in one month's time. Thank you gentlemen for your time."
With that business concluded or nearly so, the Greeks are informed that they may be admitted to see the King.

Pentheus arrives with a column numbering over a thousand. He had brought nobles and warriors and servants with him, along with enough food and drink for a great feast.
He rode with twenty guards towards the Palace gates, the rest of the column waitig a short distance away.
"I have come, as a friend."
