    Default Unable to destroy italian factions

    So i'm running a late era 6.4 campaign and after wiping out the venetians and the genonese i opened diplomacy and noticed that the factions hadn't actually been destroyed. neither of them have any cities left (i've both toggled fow and used the surrender_regions commands to make sure). I have no idea whats causing this glitch, and i've been able to wipe out other factions without a problem. Anyone know what's causing this?

    oh i'm using the submod battle for the baltic states as well.

    Ive never seen a problem like that.
    Maybe it has to do with the 'baltic states' mod.

    Yea, I'm reinstalling it from scratch now (going to try without it first then with the submod again) it only occurs late game, and my theory is that an error in coding treats all the italian factions like the papal states, so it'll continue to exist no matter what

    In BftB genoa and venice do not have family members which is what makes them indestructible, however they included a script that should kill them when they lose all of their settlements.

    It could be that the kill_faction command doesnt work at all, even on a script which would suck :/
    nah is the "has_family_tree no" which by default is only for the Papal States, the correct value should be "has_family_tree teutonic" and they should die like any normal faction, this is in descr_sm_factions.txt

    Another quick question, which i know has been asked hundreds of times before but can't find the answer to (Tw center is acting really wonky, and i'm unable to use the search button) but what file would i edit in order to add units to certain rosters (I.E. it bothers me that venetians dont get access to the patrician calvary even though they historically had a patrician class as well)

    The file is the battle_models.
    Find the model you want to add and add an entry for Venice.
    Ideally you would have a skin for the Venetian colors but you can use one of the other factions skin as well.
    BTW, I don't know any unit named "patrician calvary".
    How are they called in-game?

    famiglia ducale is the internal name IIRC

    yeah as paleologos said, in BMMDB(battle_models.modeldatabase) you assign the textures to models among other things...but to make a unit available to a faction you have to edit it in the EDU(export_descr_units.txt) and EDB(export_descr_buildings.txt)...if its only for custom battles then no need to alter the EDB then.
