Several envoys, mounted on swift horses, faces swathed in wraps that obscured their faces arrive at Yerevan and request an audience with the King.
Greeted by the diplomatic service the envoys were shown to their private room where a hot bath and a refreshing beverage awaited. Within the hour the envoys were in the presence of the the King

The Hellenid envoy began first, sending his message:
'' My lord, I, Yuros of Therapa, am asking you to establish an trade agreement between our two nations. Since we are close neighbours and friends, and trade will bring much benefit to our two nations. It is also an interest of my lord to establish an alliance, since we are neighbours, we will need someone to watch our backs. Only the two of us can serve in each other's interest and we will serve as true allies. An non aggression pact will also be in your favor as well, we have no aims to expand anywhere for now. We see you as much better allies rather than enemies. So will you accept our offer, my liege? ''
Levon mulled over the agreement as the envoy made his argument.
A trade agreement is most agreeable.
Levon paused for a moment before continuing
Regrettably it is too soon to discuss anything further, unless if you are willing to sign a defensive pact

"Levon, King, first of his name" interrupted the envoy from Ysatis, "apologies for speaking out of turn, but it cannot wait, and we must be away before too much time has passed; the strength of Kleandros is rising in the East, he already commands an army larger than any seen since the death of Alexander, and has the will and the skill with which to crush all opposition." He paused a moment and let out a sigh, "we fear it is only a matter of time until he marches West, and Artobyzus is not strong enough to bar his path...alone. That is why I have been sent to request a treaty with Armenia and its King, that if we are too be attacked we can rely upon the support of the Armenians to repel this threat to us all."
The King signaled the guards to clear the room with the exception of the Ysatisian envoy. Levon sat patiently giving a stern look as the envoy told his message.
Though I am deeply concerned by this threat, I know too little about the situation to make any rash decisions.

"Your majesty, it is understood, but I can tell you that he is swallowing the Eastern provinces like astarved man consumes food. Diadotus, so-called ruler of Sogdiana, bent the knee to him and handed into his hands all the lands of his former domain. These now too belong to Kleandros." A worried but sympathetic look came across the Persians face, though it was obscured by his headscarf, "I shall not try to force you into anything, my King would not wish it, but once Kleandros has had enough lands of the Indus pay homage to him, he shall gather their fighting men and within another year he shall have marched across Persia and into Armenia itself! I say this not as a threat, or to scare his majesty, but simply as a warning that no-one should stand alone against this menace or leave another to do so in their place."
I should hope that your armies wear his force down before they ever reach my boarders.
Levon pulls out a map of the world, with a small grin
Currently I am looking to expand my boarders and military strength. Perhaps if your King was willing to offer military assistance in my endeavour, my enlarged force could further aid your cause.

The envoys fool the servants to the kings presence, before speaking give a small chest filled with silks and spoiler stamped with the likeness of Kleandros. "Our lord gives the king the Armenians these gifts without cost to you lord, but ask for you to hear our offers in hopes goods like these might pass between our lands in the future. He wishes for trade lanes to be opened and a pact of non aggression to be signed between us!"

The envoys look confused, " West? Who speaks of such! Who slanders our lord? We agreed to keep the peace with the Persian king in the desert, we only seek to maintain, rebuild and make sure the legacy Alexander left behind in the east is not destroyed by the barbarians from the north and the east! My kings army grows only because they believe in his cause. He prides himself in not having shed blood even once to secure his lands. He is benevolent and fair."

The Persians would not stand idly by, but had to speak up, to both the Armenian King and the envoy of Kleandros, "while it is true that your King has not proceeded West, and that he is as you have described, please tell me; what will he do once he has conquerored the Indus? He will sit silently behind his mountains with his leashed Greek and army right there? Can you assure us, even swear by the Gods, that this will be so?"
