    Default A modding question about tunics

    Iam trying to figure out what specific thing i should change in order for the late hastati(polybian) to use the same tunics as the early Hastati(camillan).
    In the variantmeshdefinitions file there is no option to change the tunic... so what specific thing changes the tunic that a unit uses?

    The armour will have a set of roman tunics attached in its variant mesh definition. In the early hastati file, note the name of the armour variantmesh in the armour slot. Then look in the variantmodels, in man for that amour, look in that definition and it will have a set of tunics in the armour definition, take note of this file path (copy it). Now go into the late hastati variantmeshdefinition and find its armour variantmesh, go again into variant models and find it, inside it will have a different tunic used, replace this with the tunic from the early hastati you (cntrl+c)'d or whatever. Voila, that should work.
    If not, then I suggest opening the variant model definition with TWeak from the creation kit and create a new armour definition using the armour and tunic you want
    If that is half as confusing to read as it was to quickly write a reply, I apologise. I'm hardly an expert at modding this game, for that you'll have to hope one of the team replies

    Thank you very much for your help! But what if you use the exact same armour for each units(thats what i did) and still you have the same result?

    Huh, so using the same variantmesh still gives different tunics? :S
    That definitely shouldn't happen, unless the new definition isn't being applied for some reason Add something stupid to the new definition to see if it's being applied, as if its that i'm sure there is a way to make it work. On the other hand if it is being applied but still has different tunics I'm going to say post in the rome 2 mod workshop for more help as I have no idea what could be making it do that

    I hope it's the first option

    I appreciate your help very much. Well unfortunately i already did that in order to make sure if iam modding a variant definition that is wrong but is not, so i tend to think that there is something in the db that concerns the unit that need to be changed probably in the main units section or something else...
