Default Hatra, the Capital of the Hellenid Kingdom

The city of Hatra is at the heart of the Hellenus Kingdom. An impressive city, it is the heart of the government of the empire, the corner stone, and where all the millitary are assembled, trained and recruited. The sun sets on the warm ancient city of Hatra, combined with influences from Greek/Macedonian/Persian influences. Its laws strict, its citizens happy and content.

The Royal Court is ruled by the King, Hellenus the Mighty, while his stragetos( governors and generals) manage the administration of the provinces ruled by them. Tax is done by the Royal Treasuary, and building projects are commissioned by the planning committee set by the Emperor himself. The city has strong robust defences, with aqueducts and houses sprawling into the city.

Several envoys, mounted on swift horses, faces swathed in wraps that obscured their faces arrive at Hatra and request an audience with the King.

Hellenus the Mighty stood aside, his dress fashioned in the style of the Persian robes, while he stood there waiting as the palace guards escorted the Ytasian Envoys, their faces obscure and covered, bowed down to the King. The hall was mighty, from where sat in an throne made of black marble, while tapestries were covered showing the lineage of the Hellenid family, their famous general Hellenidus fighting alongside with Alexander. Fire breathed from the cauldrons, illumanting a bright green light as bodyguards stood everywhere in the wall. On either side, the ministers sat while Thermosticles of Dura, the general, sat into one of the seats as he waited.

'' Welcome, in the name of Hermes I offer you weary travellers, some refreshments. What is it that you wish to discuss about? '' Hellenus said as he clicked his fingers, with servants offering cups of wine to the envoy.

Occ: This post has been rested until there is an reply. The envoys have been rested.

Several diplomats arrive from the Parmenid kingdom, They throwed a golden statue of Cerberus before the gates of Hatra meaning this was a sign of Hades indicating Dissatisfaction in the Parmenid realm.

'Open the gates and let the parmenid diplomats enter Hatra, we need to talk'

The guards stood still at the unwanted aggression set by the Parmenid Diplomats. Chancellor Kakroi, arrived at the gates as they opened and began.

'' Do not talk in such a dull tounge, Parmenid diplomats. We do not call for such aggression from here. You seem to cause trouble here, ''

The Chancellor nodded as hundreds of silver shield bodyguards surrounded the envoys as they were escorted into the city gates into the palace.

The diplomat Euthydemus entered the palace of Hatra and took a seat there, he began with talking.

'Trouble? Your recent rise in Mesopotamia has not gone unnoticed and troubled our king Parmenion, we are going to be honest, the Parmenid dynasty doesn't trust you as we assume you have claims on south Mesopotamia. However we have other things to worry about such as the affairs in the east. For now King parmenion offers you a non-agression pact of three years and recommends trade lines to improve for these years. Once this years have passes we will evaluate our diplomatic progression and will judge for another non agression pact.

Euthydemus laughed at the word 'trouble' We macedonians cause trouble?

The Chancellor nodded as the Ystain envoys deliberated between themselves and turned to the diplomat.

'' Welcome Euthydemus, firstly let me clear things. We do not lay claim to anyone else's land. Whatever lands we rule are ours, and we do not tolerate any trespassing on them. Our lands are ours and that is it. But we shall move on to more important matters ''

'' Secondly, we accept your generous offer for the time being. In the hope that you do not cause much trouble to us, as we are already engaged in several affairs, and I have many things to run in my schedule. But an non aggression pact will be useful considering the rise of Klanedros.... but we will see, for I am not sure whether you will keep your word, but it will do for the time being. ''

'' Is there anything else? ''

'We will respect your lands as long as you respect the integral territory of our lands. We won't trouble you as we have our own concerns, especially with Kleandros the bastard.'

'Do not doubt our word, for we are not traitors and we always keep ourselves to any promises made. Trust us' 'I assume we have a non agression pact and trade rights signed yes?

The Ysatian envoys, having been well rested and fed, entered the hall just as the Parmenids were shufled into the room. Instead of speaking, they watched silently, but with open and ears and knowing eyes, looking from Kakroi to the envoys and back again.

    To the Ystaian envoys.

    The Chancellor bowed and began.

'' My emissaries, I hope you have been treated well here. Please, discuss what issues you need to talk about as our King is busy crushing rebels in the far South. ''

After giving a small bow, and confirming that all their needs had indeed been met, the man that had been singled out as the speaker for the small group took a step toward the Chancellor and spoke up.

"We understand that a bond has been forged between yourself and the man they are calling the 'bloodless victor', Kleandros. Yet...he is an ambitious man, and I do not think that this could be any clearer, one must simply look at the expansion of his realm in nought but a few months. His wealth is great, his military might extreme, and if he should turn his face toward the West it would take a unified front to halt him from simply rolling across these lands as Alexander once did."

The envoy knew he stepped upon fragile ground, the Hellenids having made a pact with Kleandros, though they were fools if they believed he would spare them when the time came.

"My King needs to know that, should he expand into the heartlands of Persia, we may count on the support of the Hellenid relam to push him back into his own lands."

These people were friends of Kleandros, but surely even they could see the growing danger- though they could be blind, or simply not care.

    The Chancellor nodded.

'' What you speak is very true, envoy. We do not intend to be friends with Kleandros and know of his ambitions. But then you see our problem as well, the way those Parmenid diplomats talked with us shows that they do not intend much rather friendly relations from us. Either way, we are seeking to establish an trade agreements, then we shall see where it goes. ''

The Chancellor knew well of what the growing dangers that were ahead. But in these times, one had to be diplomatic, and one would wait and watch.

'' Even if, you say by your words that it is up-to us to push him back into our lands. May we count on your support then? Right now, we are busy with our Egyptian affairs, but we will see when the time is right. It would indeed take an unified front. The Parmeinds are not trustworthy to us, and I see your friendly relations with them may lead them to do some sort of tricky business with Klenadros. That is the only matter that is concerning me,. ''

"You may rely on our support, Chancellor. A unified front in the West will prove to be a greater obstacle to any potential threats, and if you are to form a defensive and trade treaty with us, then you need not worry about Persian aggression at least. In these times we must all be trusting, even if only on the surface."

    To the Ystian Envoys:

Very well, we will sign the defensive and trade treaty with you.

    To the Armenian Envoy:

The King is still away at the moment, as he is busy in Syria, however, I will take your message to him. Please tell me what it is that you need to talk about.
