Default [problem unfixed] Were can I find the DB for a ships Variantmesh?

As the title says, any one got a clue?
we got the normal table for unit: Unit_variant
But for ship? were can I find it? it is under ship_dbs in column: model its a string. the normal path for .VMD (short for VariantMeshDefinition).model allow us to call it.
we got the: ship_dbs. which has: key = String. entity (uses combo_box). model = String. spacing (uses combo_box).
the key is a key, so another table can call for it.
    Let's take a look on egyptian_double_hft_eight.
    in Naval_Unit tables we got:

    egyptian_double_hft_eight
    4500
    heavy_ship shp_mel greek_seven egyptian_eight egyptian_double_hft_eight

    double_hft_eight egyptian_heavy_tower egyptian_heavy_tower 1 False True egyptian_double_hft_eight False 1026

and in ship_dbs table we got:

    egyptian_eight egyptian_eight egyptian_eight ship_eight

So lets change it a bit:

I uploaded a file instead so people can see.
here it is, open it with PFM.

    were are two VMD.
the Bac_test looks like the normal egyptian_eight.
    the Bac_double_hft_eight has new shields.

The VMD in use right now is the Bac_test. the other may just led to crashing of the game.

This is for the landlocked Bactrian Marines yes? I hope they can find a puddle big enough to float their ship!

You assign a ship to a unit in naval_units_tables it's the column marked unknown4. If you want to add a battle ship to a land unit as a transport then you do that in main_units_tables. I'm pretty sure that ship_dbs_tables is all you need to actually get the new ship model into the game so long as you have it included with the proper models pathways.

I'm not really sure I answered you're question but I hope I helped!

    Hey Thanks
Will come back with a update, But yes I have made some few new "landlocked units which needs ships :3

It just I made a new .VariantMeshDefinition for ships And I wondered if we are able to change it?
But Yeah It must be column "model" which will refer to the .VariantMeshDefinition file.

Right now I just trying to better understand how ships works.. and god its hard!

Im at a dead end can't find the related Database with the key to a ships .variantmeshdefinition.

Try downloading a mod that changes ships and figure it out from there. To be honest I don't know much about ship editing.

I have checked a few out to be honest :3, but most mod just "re-use" the normal ingame ships.

I will check out more mods now, there must be some one whom found the missing link!

I got conformation that it is the column: model in ship_dbs which is the link to a ships .VMD (short for VariantMeshDefinition).

but so far its just crashing for me, instead of freezing on the start, Ohhh this is going to be good :3.
