The Mesopotamian council

Parmenion has invited all his neighbours to gather and to discuss about the Mesopotamian affairs. From those who were invited only the Northern neighbours arrived and the other ones did not come out of 'neutrality'
Once the diplomats from the north have arrived Parmenion was not present but rather his brother Chrysogonus has replaced him as the leader of the council.

Chrysogonus, the brother of Parmenion at the age of 54 years began to talk to the northern diplomats.

' My fellow neighbours, may i excuse me for the absence of Parmenion? I am most pleased to tell you he has won the battle of Babylon and is currently hunting the remnants of the rebel army'

' It's a shame my other neighbours have not come to this council as i feel they are part of Mesopotamia and therefore should discuss about the current affairs in Mesopotamia'


Chrysogonus pauses for a moment and begins to talk again after he gave food and wine to the diplomats.

' The world is changing, and i feel a storm is oncoming, It will not take long before the other generals of Alexander will start seizing lands through violence and war. We must prevent this from happening in Mesopotamia, I feel we must unite, a united Mesopotamia would be strong and being able to hold of Invasions from other power hungry generals. Divided Mesopotamia is weakened and will not be able to resist other generals. Tell your master i propose an unification between our provinces'

'An unification between our realms will have alot of advantages,togheter our army would be strongest in the world and nobody would dare to invade Mesopotamia,trade would flourish between our people, we would be rich togheter. Our people would come togheter and learn from eachother, science will prevail between our people. And do not be afraid, Persian will be recognised as a legitimate Language in our realm, also i will accept Zoroastrianism as legitimate Religion'

Chrysogonus sits down and takes his glass of wine and is waiting for the diplomats their response

The diplomats are not impressed by the words of Chrysogonus, telling him that they would not join a man who does not have full control over his subjects, a foreign Macedonian no less. They quickly excuse themselves and leave Babylon.
