Default Letters to those nearest... - A second, but smaller, attempt at gathering support

Soon after his emergence from the temple of Ahuramazda, his sins forgiven by the deity himself and his purpose now a clear one, Artobyzus entered his bare chambers and began to put down thoughts and writing within a series of more-or-less identical letters. It was clear to him that he had thought too big to begin with, far too big, and whereas his last attempt at co-ercing his brother Persians had failed...perhaps this might work?

    The letters read:

My countrymen, my brothers, heed my words as the words of a man cleansed of wrong and washed in the sacred fire of our highest god,

I, Artobyzus of Asagatya, son-in-law of Phrataphernes of Parthia, and King of the Desert Lands, implore you to rally behind me. Though once a traitor, my soul and body have been made clean, and it is for the purpose of making what has been fractured and broken whole once more. Allow yourself to become my vassal, willingly and of your own accord, and the Empire for which Darius fought so hard can once more be united beneath a Persian ruler. Please, hear my plight and take a look at your own strength, for we are stongest as one, and under my banner we shall be one.

One people, one Empire. Free of Makedonians and their warmongering, free to return to that which was but is now gone.

Blessings of Ahuramazda upon you and yours,

    Artobyzus

A copy of this letter were sent by the swiftest horsemen to the southernmost reaches of Karmania (province 81), the headmen of the mountainous region of Hyrkania (78) and, perhaps most crucially, that of Persis (76) to the south-west- almost as an afterthought, and with no real hope of convincing them, riders were also dispatched to Khoarene (73) and Khorasmia (77) in the far northern reaches of what had once been the Persian Empire, the later being a land of horsemen and nomads that could one day be of some use.

OOC: I'd like to request a roll for this, for results of messages requesting submission by the leaders of these provinces. The grounds for this request are manifold, but I should hope that the want for a united Persia is clear enough, and, if it be so, divinely inspired guidance as well. I'd imagine 'lower' Karmania would be easier to tempt, with the others being normal, and Persis/Khorasmia a little harder due to their importance and remoteness respectivley.

Then again, I am out in the middle of Iran all by myself, the only guy trying to make a continuation of the now ex-empire, so no idea if that counts for something.

Anywho, if I can, I would like to make it so.

Considering that the rolls for most of these provinces have been to close together I will wait until Friday of the new year to make the rolls. But since the northern provinces of 78/77 are friendly i will make those rolls.

    Roll Range: 10/20
    Modifiers:
    +1 for Friendly Relations
    +1 For Cleanse
    -1 For recent attempt

    New Range: 11/20 (1 - 11; Accepted; 12 - 14, Neutral; 15 - 20; Unaccepted)
    Result: 7, Accepted

Having heard of Artobyzus cleansing and fearful of the encroaching Macedonian power on all sides, the lords of Hyrkania submit to him. The friendly relations established before helped smooth the way for most of the nobles to accept his rule and protection, in hopes that a united Persia will help keep the outsiders at bay.
