Placating the Dissidents
While a fair portion of the Carians and other cultures that make up the realm of Caria had supported her mother's actions in supporting Alexander and by association their own loyalty being with him as well, some factions in the realm opposed the measure and caused some turmoil once Alexander's army had left Caria to continue marching eastward. Artemisia, at the suggestion of some of her councilors, decides to address the people of Halicarnassus in a attempt to placate their fears following the turmoil erupting around their small realm as the fallout from Alexander III's death or win over the anti-Hecatomnid factions. Prior to her speech, a feast was held and rituals honoring the Greek Pantheon(with the longest ritual being for Hecate, whose worship is said to originate amongst the Carians) and another for the Ahura Mazda.
"Citizens of Halicarnassus. Strife has engulfed the lands all around us, from rumors of massive hordes of barbarians marching on Macedon to numerous new realms arising from the shattered pieces of what was once the Macedonian Empire. Our realm however has remained unaffected by these changes, with only changes of ruler being within the Hecatomnid dynasty instead of some foreign outsider marching into Halicarnassus, Lycia, or Mylasa to enforce his own beliefs and customs upon the people at swordpoint.
While it is true my mother sided with Alexander the Great against my uncle and Darius III of Persia, Alexander's forces were not the ones who set our city ablaze, but those of a Rhodian brute commanding mercenaries loyal to Darius when he realized the battle could not be won! But my mother and I have managed to rebuild most of what my ancestors funded construction of..temples, statues, and the fortifications of the city. Since then, has Caria known only peace and prosperity with the rights and religions of each culture that makes up Caria being defended by the Hecatomnids? I swear that if I am lying, may the gods strike me down where I stand and find someone more worthy to rule this fair land." She remains still for a moment. "That is all, let the feast continue."
ooc :
She's married to a Persian who has adopted a great majority of Carian customs, and is a native Carian herself, if that counts for anything.
Also to see if the people still approve of Caria's actions during the Wars of Alexander the Great.

Re: Placating the Dissidents
Will the actions of Artemisia earn the allegiance of the people?
Roll Range: 10/20
Modifiers: +1 for native Carian, +1 for husband accepting Carian customs, and -1 for husband being Persian
New Range: 11/20 (1 - 11; Accepted; 12 - 14, Neutral; 15 - 20; Unaccepted)
Result: 6, Accepted
Despite her husband being Persian, the people of Caria rejoice at such a display of the Queen's skills at pleasing the people and ensuring their future is a good one. They speak loudly of praises and shower them upon the Queen and her husband.
