One of the reasons for CTD is incorrect name Trieste in export_descr_ancillaries.txt and export_descr_character_traits.txt
Trigger bischof_triest
You must remove .text.strings before the first start.
.txt.strings.bin
The Steam version has the log showing up in the main Medieval 2 folder. Not the logs folder. It's called system.log
madrush, delete all .txt.strings.bin in text folder, they are created at startup.
map.rwm not must be deleted
Usually a mod has an entry for logs in it's CFG file (opens with Notepad), including the name and path where it can be found, example from EBI:
[log]
to = mods/ebii/logs/eb.system.log.txt
Doesn't matter whether it's for the disk version or Steam. If the entry does not exist in the CFG file then the log will be in the game's root folder (again, for both versions) with the name of system.log.txt
Campaign works. Descriptions are nicely in English, however the game has taken German as it's main language in the campaign menu, all the unit/building "abilities" are in German and a bit unsure where to change it, since when I launch the game, the main menu is in English.
