Total: 18000 men
Professional:
900 Hypaspists (Elite): These are the men and sons of the elite warriors who served in Alexander's army in support of the phalanx. They are victors of battles and skirmishes uncountable. When the empire fell apart, these men remained loyal to their general after he became King.
900 Hoplites (Elite): Wearing thick armour and wielding weapons they have trained with for years, these mercenaries from mainland Hellas are a solid bastion of Greek dominance in the east.
1200 Kataphraktoi (Heavy Cav): These men are a mixture of natives and colonists who have answered the call of the new Greek King of the northern Levant. Riding clad in metal from head to hoof, these are the literal mailed fist of the Thessilian King.
Allied:
1200 Tarantine Cavalry (light cav): These men fighting in the Greek style act as scouts, messengers and skirmishers. Some would go as far to say that they are what keeps the new kingdom running. They are a dependable group of natives and mercenaries, who know their mounts as well as any other.
1200 Aphraktoi Archers (missile cav): Taking after the nomadic peoples of the east, these 'unarmoured' cavalry dance around the enemy, filling them full of arrows before they unleash a devastating charge.
6000 Argyraspides (Heavy): Greeks, Macedonians, Hellenized Persians, all those who have a legacy from Greece stand shoulder to shoulder in the battle formation of the Great Conqueror.
600 Thureophoroi (light): These men are armed with a large oval shield and spear, long enough to allow them to join the phalanx, or act as a cavalry deterrent on the flanks.
Levy:
1200 Thoraktoi (heavy): Clad in expensive chainmail, these men fight with thick shields and long spears, capable of augmenting the phalanx as well as dashing ahead to deal with flanking cavalry.
1200 Persian Archers (light/archer): Fighting in the old Persian style, these men wield both bow and spear and shield. While they will not be considered on par as the phalanx, they are as dependable, if not more so, than the Greek light infantry.
1200 Citizen Militia (light): The lowest of the low, these men are drafted in to fill out the phalanx, more to express the power of the army rather than for any actual tactical worth.
2400 Arab Spearmen (light): These men do not wish to fight for the aloft foreigner who demands their servitude, but with the alternative being death, they will march to war. Armed with a variety of tribal spears and shields, these lightly armed and armoured warriors are hardy fighters, used to the harsh climates of the desert.
