Kleandros looks out over the gathered at the Acropolis constructed not that long ago by Alexander and himself. He laid some of the stones himself when he built this new town, in fact he had a direct hand in many of the new Macedonian settlements throughout the region. Now he was alone, and it was his hands that would shape the East from here on out. He mourned his fallen lord and was even baffled by the ill luck of the Argeads, it seemed the gods themselves look unfavorably on their dynasty. Like the Olympians themselves, Kleandros compared their rise to the toppling of the Titans and taking the heavens for themselves. Now they were the gods, but as everyone knew the Olympians fought among themselves until one ruled over all.
Word of the fall of Alexander and his heir had spread like wildfire throughout his Empire and already the wolves were circling at the borders and within his own lands. It was his duty to maintain control of this land. It was his duty by Alexander and that had not changed. He would take the reins of fate and force them to obey. He would honor his fallen lord by making sure his dream of the east did not die with him. He would take up his cause and bring civilization to the barbarians. Though now the barbarians were now a growing threat, feeling the weakness of their new overlords. Kleandros had a growing respect for their hardy nature and rustic ways though. They had a love of their home and he did not blame then. From his view of the mountains it was a gorgeous site, this have at the end of the world. He had enjoyed his limited time here even taking in more than just the sites but the locals as well.
The native tribes and citizens were restless, growing discontent and a want to return to the old ways; their old religions and kings. He must show them he had their best interests at heart. In his heart he wanted to elevate them, to make them better, to show them the path of honor and the glory of civilization. He would earn their trust. He started with garnering favors with their nobles.
Kleandros chooses to take a second wife from the local nobility from the Indus, a beauty named Usha. He marries her in the local fashion to appease the native population.
