The starting campaign date, I'm sure I need to go to startpos.esf, but where is the exact path? If you're not sure what I wan't to change its the year label on the bottom right of the screen ...for example 218 BC, or 311 AD

Look for a tutorial out there that changes the turns per year. it will most probably point you out to the necessary location.

All it gave me was this :
    in startpos.esf

    CAMPAIGN_STARTPOS >> COMPRESSED_DATA >> CAMPAIGN_ENV >> CAMPAIGN_MODEL >> CAMPAIGN_CALENDER >> DATE ...
    In date it says
    481 |System.UInt32
    1 |System.UInt32
    0 |System.UInt32
    0 |System.UInt32

thats the right position, its a bit tricky and you have to test it a lot to confirm which line does what exactly. I think the first is 481 is the date (481AU?=272 BC)
the first is how many turns 1
the second is what month the campaign starts on e.g. you can make it start in july
and the third is what month to continue e.g. campaign starts in july but the next month will be february so you need to change this as well

OF COURSE thats my assumption you must test this it might be the other way around etc. its very annoying but thats the only way.

Using the assembly kit ? Just change the 481 (which means 272 bc) to any number you want like 262 bc = 491 , 250 bc to 509 and so on.
