Ten biremes arrive, escorting a huge quintireme, with purple flags. Envoys of Antigonus I Kalós arrive to Halicarnassus and request an audience with the Queen.

The envoys are welcomed by Cleon of Iasos, one of the Queen's chief retainers and led to the palace of Halicarnassus near the mostly restored Citadel of the city, both overlooking the Mausoleum built by Artemisia II. The palace itself appears to be a mixture of Persian, Greek, Carian, and some Phoenician in decoration, but predominantly Carian. The Queen and three retainers emerge from a small temple to the side of the main hall which bears a statue of Hecate. "Cleon, who are these men?" "Emissaries of Antigonus I Kalós." Artemisia nods and moves to sit in her small throne, then gestures for the men to speak. Cleon has moved to the left of his queen, while the other three men stand to the right. The emissaries can see two of them are Carian and the third is a Persian.

A man, graying his hair and balding, fierce beard, white as snow, bows before the Queen, respectfully. His height is average, but is broad chested and his arms are covered by thin scars.

"Revered Queen Artemisia of Caria, of the Hecatomnid dynasty. We have been sent by our King, Antigonus I Kalós, ruler of Lower Egypt. He sends his regards and an offer of sincere friendship"

Artemisia looks at the envoy curiously for a moment. "Friendship with Egypt..so he desires trade between Halicarnassus and Alexandria, or des your master seek something more than that?"

The envoy, a cousin of Antigonus by the name of Cleitus, smiles kindly.

"He desires trade, Queen Artemisia, and friendship if you are willing"

A delegation from Macedon, bearing the standard of the Leonnatids comes to Hilcarnassus.

The Macedonian envoys are escorted into the palace of Halicarnassus, the citadel of the city and the Mausoleum visible from the location of the palace. Once inside, they are led to the throne room of the Hecatomnids. Artemisia is on her throne, wearing a traditional Carian dress and to her sides are her councilors. "Welcome to Halicarnassus, men of Macedonia." she pauses to gesture for some servants to bring food and drink for her guests if they so choose to accept it. "Before we begin, may I offer you some food or drink?"

The leader of the delegation, Peukestas, a cousin of the King, shakes his head in decline.

No thank you, but I thank you for the offer.

He bows to the Queen of Caria then straightens himself.

A delegation from the lands of Egypt arrived and informed us that those of the Aegean may have a common enemy in Greece.

Artemisia dismisses the servants with a wave of her hand before nodding. "Indeed, the Platean League..their agents, well, a city-state's agents as this was prior to the League's formation..were sighted amongst the few Ionian Greek communities in my lands for some purpose that was refused." she pauses for a moment. "Then I hear of the League's formation which makes me believe the agents were sent to incite action against me for some purpose beneficial to the League, or more likely..Rhodian interests due to their proximity to Caria."

The League demanded of their independence from my cousin, the King of Macedon. Leonnatus accepted it only because of the Thracian threat on his doorstep. But as he told the emissaries of Egypt, once the war is over, he plans to march and make the Greeks remember who their true masters are.

Artemisia remains silent for some time after Peukestas finished speaking, weighing her options before nodding. "Caria shall support you in this coalition, my dynasty has an unresolved issue with the city of Rhodes.." she looks around her palace for a moment, remembering walking through the ruins and damaged structures of a large portion of Halicarnassus after Memmon of Rhodes had set ablaze the city as he retreated from Alexander's army.

Macedon is aware of that unresolved issue. I believe everyone who fought for Alexander the Great remembers what that mercenary and the Persian Empire did to your home. Just as Leonnatus has unresolved issues with the Greeks and seeks to resolve them, you will get your resolve as well.

She nods, then smiles. "Yes, it shall be resolved..and I can restore Hecatomnid rule over Rhodes along with removing an economic rival to Halicarnassus. Gods willing, we shall see these issues resolved in favor of Macedon and Caria." "I guess this is my version of the Social War my uncle fought in.." she thinks to herself.

I am sure you will notice that trade from the great fields of the Tirgis will bring Halicarnassus much benefit in trade and prosperity. For now we are holding off the non aggression pact, seeing that your lands are indeed far away. But we would very much like to establish an trade agreement with you. ''

Legos of Haulis bowed. '' We accept in hearty agreement my queen, and I will bring your words to my King who I am sure will be very happy. I must depart my highness, for it was an fruitful meeting. '' and departed as he left the palace back to the Kingdom.
