    Antigonus the Fair:

    Ἀντίγονος ὁ Καλός

    Portrait colored by Oznerol-1516 (me!)
    Born 359 AC (36)
    Nicknames: Kalós ('fair'), Euphanes ('god-manifest')
    Status: Married:
    -Amestris, grand-daughter of Ataxerxes III
-Selene, scion from a Macedonian family.
    Children:
    -With Selene:
    ->Antiochus, born 338 AC (15)
    ->Stratonice, born 335 AC (12)
    ->Laodice, born 332 AC (9)
    -With Amestris:
    ->Antigonus, born 328 AC (twin to Eumenes)(5)
    ->Eumenes, born 328 AC (twin to Antigonus)(5)
    ->Cleopatra Stateira, born 325 AC (2)

Born into the high Macedonian nobility Antigonus was part of Alexander’s inner circle, those who had been his partners since his childhood, including being taught by Aristotle himself. Antigonus thus was part of Alexander’s Companions and he fought by his side from the Granicus to Gaugamela, as one of his somatophylakes. With golden hair, like molten, polished gold, grey eyes, high cheekbones and imposingly tall, Antigonus was known as one of the fairest in the King’s entourage, thus called the “Handsome” or the “Fair”. Of slender and athletic build he was a good charioteer and rider; almost won the Olympiads once and its known by his physical fortitude.
Antigonus was one of those who adopted eagerly Asian customs, and married a high-born Persian Lady, thus a distant cousin of Darius III, who from that day shared her position with Selene, his Macedonian wife; although Antigonus clearly favors his Persian wife and her children.
Antigonus is known to favor philosophers, artists and scientists all over the world, but at the same time his symposiums last for a full day, filled with excesses, young boys, philosophy and poetry in equal doses. Proud and utterly over-confident he likes to be compared with god Apollos, who he resembles because both the fairness of his face and body and his gifted mind. More and more he desires to be called 'Epiphanes', manifest-God.
Close to the King, he mourned his death, but as everyone, soon was plotting to gain his own land, even if his eyes were long time fixed in the blessed land of Egypt.

    "Brennos of the Volitae"
    Novanticorix
    -Personal Name
    Brennos
    -Common/Popular Name

    Title: Brennos (Warrior King)
    Rank: Rix (King)
Age: 23 Winters in 322 BC, born 355 BC

Said to have strangled his younger brothers in their sleep before defeating his older brother on the field of battle, Novantico (now Novanticorix) is truly-named: A cunning, pragmatic, and charismatic figure that the Celtic tribes of the Carpathian Basin have not seen for generations.

Born the second son of Atigorix, King of the Volitae, and a noblewoman of the Thracian Triballi, Novantico spent his young adult life wandering the Balkans as an adventurer and a simple traveler, learning much of Hellas, Makedonia, Epeiros, southern Thrace, and even the western approaches of Anatolia. When Alexander came to power, Novantico was set as the ambassador to this new Hellenic Basileus, and met with him personally, speaking in Greek, and paid a sort of homage to this seemingly powerful king, keeping the peace in the Balkan passes.

Some years later, Atigorix died in battle against the Illyrians, and Novantico returned home to the uncertain future of the tribe.
A bloody struggle occurred, with Novantico becoming Novanticorix in the end.

Now, the Carpathian basin is a thick place, with not enough room for every tribe and all its freemen, their families, and their land.
Indeed, the source of most conflict is the lack of room.
So, Novanticorix, now known by all commonly as Brennos, a nickname for Warrior Kings, has promised his people, all of the Volitae, a new homeland, fertile and wide ... - but first, he will seek to gather all the riches of the known world, for Alexandorix - King of the Southerners - is dead, and his empire shattered.

Novantico stands at an average height compared to other men, and is rather unimposing, when related to the typically brawny kings of other tribes. He cuts his hair short like the Hellenes, crops his beard shorter than most Celts, and shows an aptitude for intelligent decision making - placing careful thought over courageous action.

The Royal Dynasty of the Volitae

    Past Generation:
    Gaesorix, died 349
    Atigorix, died 325
    - Lugonnatos, died 323
    - Novanticorix, Brennos since 323
    - Vindomaros, died 323
    - Elito, died 323

    New Generation:
    Novanticorix
    - N/A
Strength of the Volitae (for 322 BC - Second In-Game Year)

The Volitae are a powerful and wide-spread "tribe."
It would be more accurate to call them a "confederation," built up by wars in squalorous Pannonia with its heavy population.
So, when one looks, the King of the Volitae is an 'over-king', with tribal chieftains or 'sub-kings' beneath him.

Regardless, the Volitae are a great force now, fresh and ready for a new home.
Together, they have 30,000 warriors, followed by all their families, easily reaching 100,000 people.

    30,000 warriors
    8,000 Professional
    10,000 Allied
    12,000 Levy‏

    Kleandros - Κλέανδρος

    Born 355 AC (32)

    Family:
    Wife: Demetria
    Δημητρια (Age 30)
    Sister:
    Phoibe Φοιβη (Age 25 unmarried)
    Son: Kyrillos Κυριλλος (Age 10)

Rising to prominence among Alexander's companions, the relatively unknown Kleandros gained favor from Alexander for his logistical skills and methodical approach to battle that always resulted in victory. Dark brown hair and beard, most of his features where hidden, his eyes also dark. Stern features and a medium build he could easily be passed up as a face that blends into the crowd, though his prowess on and off the battle field made him a name to be recognized. A quiet man among his peers, his eyes are a set stare that tell of unwavering resolve.

Having no desire to return to obscurity among the Macedonian provinces back home, he was more than happy to take up the work of bringing civilization to the new and warm lands of the Far east. For once in his life taking pleasure in his surroundings, aside from his wife has has taken one or two concubines from the local populace. Once word of Alexanders illness reached him he rushed to be at his side. His heart was with his lord in Babylon but his mind was already back in the Indus to his new home.

Cleitus of Thrace (Κλεῖτος της Θράκης)

    Born:
    353 BC (30 years old)
    Marital Status: Unmarried
Court: Sopolis - A Macedonion general who is both Cleitus's friend an greatest advsior.
Nikon - A Greek diplomat who Alexander appointed to serve Cleitus.

'To the strongest.' If one were to take beloved Alexander's last words literally Cleitus would undoubtedly inherit the world. Forcing even the tallest of Greeks to look up to him Cleitus is less man and more bull, bulging muscles stretching even tailored clothes. Though his body is covered in coarse red hair his head is completely bald, his cheeks due to the Hellenic fashion and his skull because of a large ugly scar caused by a Persian blade.

Cleitus's impressive physique and imposing looks come courtesy of his ancestor. Son of a minor Thracian chieftain Cleitus was taken hostage by Philip II before his first birthday during one of his many campaigns. Only two years younger than Alexander the two grew up close companions. Though educated in a traditional manner he never learned to love philosophy or the arts in the same manner as the Hellenes. Instead he had one true love, war.

During Alexander's long campaign Cleitus served as commander and adviser to his friend but was never brought into the famed ranks of the Somatophylakes. Though clearly displaying the martial characteristics vital to such a position Alexander never viewed Cleitus as learned or interesting enough to occupy his very close circle. Cleitus was Alexander's βάρβαρος, his barbarian, the perfect loyal weapon to use against the savage opposition he faced. However Cleitus still loved his King and believed he truly was the son of Zeus-Ammon.

During the Partition of Babylon Cleitus claimed Thrace and Southern Macedon and declared himself Strategos of the area, ruling the lands in Philip II's name. After the short lived King's death and disappearance of Alexander's wife Cleitus still holds firm to the Argead Dynasty as other Diodochi declare themselves King's.

He now looks to continue the great Alexander's legacy through the only means he knows how.

Leonnatus of Amphipolis (Λεοννάτο της Αμφίπολης)

    Name: Leonnatus of Amphipolis
Nicknames: Pogon ('the Bearded') and Philopator ('love for one's father/country')
    Age: 31 (born 354 BC)
    Marital Status: Married
    - Eurydice, daughter of a prominent family of Pella
    - Amyntas, daughter of a prominent family of Amphipolis
Issue: 4 children (3 sons and 1 daughter)
    - Leodiskos (born of Amyntas), born 334 BC (age 11)
    - Philip (born of Eurydice), born 332 (age 9)
    - Demetrius (born of Amyntas), born 331 BC (age 8)
    - Laodice (born of Amyntas), born 330 (age 7)

Leonnatus was born in a city known Amphipolis which was known in history for its sacking by Xerxes I of Persia and near the site of Alexander I of Macedon defeated the great Persian army commanded by Xerxes I. His father, Agathanor, was a general during the reign of Philip II, who fathered the legendary Alexander III Megas. His father was not around much due to the many wars of Philip II, so Leonnatus was educated by his uncle, Philatos, who was a retired official of the Macedonian government. It was through these various connections that Leonnatus was married to Amyntas in 339 BC and later, when he went to Pella to serve Alexander III, Eurydice in 335 BC. Leonnatus was given his first nickname by his peers, Pogon, which meant 'The Bearded' due to the great facial hair upon his chin. This added to his name, which meant 'dashing like the lion' due the Macedonian's lion-like appearance. A later nickname, Philopator, was added due to the Macedonian's profound and filial admiration for both his uncle and late father.

His military career began shortly after Alexander III was crowned. Leonnatus participated in the early rebellions against the Macedonians when Alexander marched from Amphipolis, his hometown, to defeat several northern revolts, instigated by the Thracians. The young Macedonian remained in Pella during the southern campaigns that made the Greeks bend their knee, but shortly before his Persian campaigns, Leonnatus did participate in the short war that razed Thebes.

By the time Alexander set his sights upon the Persian Empire, under Darius III, Leonnatus was given command over a detachment of the 'Shield-bearers,' the Hypaspistai. His military career during Alexander's eastern conquests mainly were in Asia Minor, Syria and Far East. This was due to an injury he sustained after the Siege of Tyre due to a stray arrow into his army. Once his injury was healed however, Leonnatus commanded troops into the Far East; Persia and India. He mourned the loss of his King, who died in the prime of his life and before he could ever become a father. At the Partition of Babylon, his ambitions secured him a piece of the Macedonian homeland as a military governor after Philip III was crowned as his half-brother's successor. His ambitions seek higher glories however and schemes start drawing into his mind as the lion returns to Macedon, ahead of Philip III's party.

Leonnatus is known for his acceptance towards philosophers, artisans and poets. He is deeply religious, always making sure the right sacrifices are performed daily and especially during celebrations and holidays. His curiosity has brought him close to scientists as well as philosophers who give him guidance beyond what religion can offer. His clear mind and proud figure assure people around him that he is truly a leader of men and a capable commander. The wars, like everyone who served Alexander, have made him powerful, rich, proud and a veteran unlike to none before. Whereas Alexander the Great had become a legend, deep within his mind, Leonnatus knew that his legend was only just beginning.

Also, I dont think for Greek Characters, Death rolls should start until they are over 65, as the average age of death of Greek "Men of Renown" I.E. those that are wealthy upper class men like Percicles etc was 70-71 years old, and thats not controlling for assassination or death in battle. Xenophon lived to be 76, Socrates was still quite spry when he was posioned at age 70, Ptlomey lives to be 84, Antipater lived to be 78, and was an active General and participant in Diadochi politics up until his mid 70s, and Lysimachus died in his late 70s

Lol, so provided you didnt die in battle, get the plauge, or get whacked, you could expect to live roughly as long a man today

Ace, please post your suggestions in the OOC thread. Please keep this sign-up clear of all OOC talk.

    'Parmenion I Eupator'
    'Chrysogonus I Theos'

    Info Name: Parmenion
Nicknames: Eupator (of a good father) , Philometor (Mother loving)
Age: Born in 379 BC (56 years old)
    Marital Status: Married
    - Phila of Pella
    Issue: 1 child (son)
-Antiochus (born from Phila), Born in 340 BC (17 years old)

    Brother of Parmenion
    Name : Chrysogonus
    Nickname : Theos (god)
Age : born in 377 BC (54 years old)
    Marital status : Married
    - Europa of Vergina
    Issue : 1 child (daughter)
    - Athanasia born from Europa), born in 339 BC (16 years old)

    Parmenion I Eupator

Parmenion is born in Pella which is the capital of Macedon know since Philip II moved it from Vergina to Pella. Parmenion was an important officer of Philip who gave him the command of the Hypaspists during Philip's campaign in Greece. During that campaign he became close friends with Philip II and was chosen to guard his new born son Alexander with his life, After many years philip II rewarded his loyal services with the official title Philos (friend of the king). On the eve of Philip's invasion of Persia he warned him not to go unarmed to the theatre as a he was aware a conspiracy againt Philip was going on, But sadly Philip Didn't listened to Parmenion and he got cowardly assassinated. After his death Parmenion participated in the battle of granicus where he led silver shields (an elite subset of the Hypaspists) to battle which he succesfully accomplished. After the battle he went with Alexander to Issus where he advised Alexander to retreat and wait for reinforcements for the upcoming battle, Alexander ignored him and since then he was accomplished with the task of raiding the arabian inland. It's here were he began to hate Alexander and began to conspire with old veterans of Philip who wanted to return home. However when conspiracy was starting Alexander commanded to end his campaign in India to return to Macedon and therefore the conspiracy got cancelled. When alexander died he did mourn because he lost an old true macedonian friend who slowly began to change in a persian king who abstained from the macedonian ways, Alexander character changed.....something Parmenion disliked. At the partition of Babylon Parmenion got rewarded for his long services with the city of Babylon and it's lands surrounding it. He now has the task the begin the hellenisation process in Mesopotamia province. Parmenion is know to be very religious and superstitious. He's a hard worker who appreciated the better things in life like wine and good food. Parmenion also wants to build a tomb for Philip II to honor him. He also find that education is a very important aspect to anyone's life and therefore he's thinking to start a new library to learn people writing and reading. He earned his nickname because his father was a rich member of the council of pella.

    Chrysogonus I Theos

Chrysogonus is just like Parmenion born in Pella. He took part in the siege of Halikarnassus where he nearly died by an arrow. He started his hatred for alexander since he wasn't choosen as the new regent for Macedon when he recalled the previous regent of macedon to Babylon. In 325 BC he nearly caused a revolt in Mesopotamia when he looted the temples of the local religion. It is said he only cares about his family's reputation and money. In short he's a true hated tyrant who only is alive because his elder brother protects him. He fully supports Philip III on the throne because he's a direct descendant from Philip II who he served loyally as captain the hetairoi during his campaign in greece. Chrysogonus also wants his only child, his daugther Athanasia to marry with Parmenion's son Antiochus to keep the 'family lineage pure and clean'. He earned his nickname because he considers himself a newborn olympian god. The madnes.........

    Diadotus, son of Vasileios

Born 357 BC (Age 34 in 323 BC)

Diadotus started as a captain of Philip II's army, commanding the cavalry units in engagements with the barbarians of the north and the decadent Greeks of the south. Often successful in his battles and with a strong reputation for loyalty he was given command a commanding position in Alexander's cavalry at the start of the great conquest of Asia. Throughout the campaign he fought at Alexander's side, taking as many wounds as the God-King himself. Diadotus would be promoted to a general after the battle of Gaugemela, when he managed to save Alexander's life by slaying one of the Immortals that had taken aim for the king. Diadotus rose from commanding the Thessalian cavalry to a higher ranked Strategos leading two divisions of Foot Companions, a third of the all the Phalanxes Alexander fielded. But as others grew in higher esteem with the king he was "demoted" to commanding a unit of Sogdanian missile cavalry instead who were mostly nobles from the lands Alexander had conquered in his campaign against Bessus and Spitamenes. These proved to be far more capable warriors than anything Diadotus had commanded before and he began to hold them in higher regard, even taking steps to learning their language. At the battle of the Hydaspes he excelled at using them against the enemy cavalry and then harassing the Paruvan infantry.

    Artobyzus of Asagatiya

Name: Artobyzus, known as Pamphilos to the Yauja (Hellenes)

Nicknames: Isuva ('battle-axe') and 'Hawk of the Desert'

    Age: 34 (born 357 BC)

    Marital Status: Widower

    - Sakineh, youngest daughter of Phrataphernes, Satrap of Parthia under Darius III and Alexander (Deceased due to illness)

Issue: 4 children (2 sons and 2 daughters)

    - Fravarti (M), born 339 BC (age 16)
    - Arezva (M), born 335 BC (age 12)
    - Mahnaz (F), born 334 BC (age 11)
    - Parvaneh (F), born 331 BC (age 8)

Artobyzus has, and always will be, an opportunist- the very fact that he has even managed to gather a small coalition of desert-dwelling tribes together at all, after the recent and sudden death of the Conqueror, is only thanks to this knack for judging a situation correctly and acting upon instinct; such 'natural talent' has been hammered into him since he was young, the only son of a Persian nobleman and common woman upon whose shoulders rested the continuation of the family line.

Born in the desert, and having spent more-or-less his entire life there, he has learnt that life is cruel, cheap and easily extinguished, learning this most recently by the death of his loyal wife to an illness contracted due to dirtied water. It was a laughable death for such a vigourous woman, and it weighs heavily upon his mind and that of his four children in turn, though only the eldest is really fully capable of understanding.

The moniker of 'Hawk' doesn't just describe his farsight in warfare, nor his lightning quick assaults, but mostly that of his boidly appearance; Artobyzus has always been smaller than average in height- at least to the Hellenes- a man of skin made dark and leathery by exposure to the arid air and strong sunshine of his homeland, with broad shoulders and long arms and hands calloused by the wiedling of both a sword and a stylus. Facially he is most like a bird, his nose aquiline and hooked, his lips thin but almost always smiling, his shoulder-length hair and pointed goatee beard, as well as his usually narrowed brown eyes all adding to this rather fetching nickname.

As for his relation to Alexander, and the rest of his hangers-on, Artobyzus served loyally in the army of Darius the Third- at least while he reigned. He saw battle as Issus, Gaugamela and, when it was realised that Darius could not be trusted to hold the Empire of his forefathers together, he readily offered himself along with a great number of other Persian 'advisors' in local routes, customs and languages to Alexander. Time went on, Darius was killed, Bessus was slain and Darius avenged, and Artobyzus progressed swiftly ahead of the other lackeys by merit alone- something that Alexander appeared to value somewhat- this particular Persian always ready to willingly learn everything about his former enemies that he could, as well as offering each and every service to his chosen patron.

By the time of the Partition of Babylon, as it came to be called, he had plunged himself so deeply into the affairs of the Makedonian hero that he was there at the event of the great man's death. Although saddened, it was not in his nature to mourn. Instead, he returned to his homeland on the eastern plataeu and allowed several competing headmen to become unvoluntarily deceased, opening up a void into which he readily stepped, gathering strength through a web of diplomacy, coin, promises and the threat of violence.

So it was that Artobyzus 'planted his flag' in the more-or-less unknown desert town known as Ysatis in the records of the Greeks; surrounded on all sides by endless sands, and protected by this and mountains, it is a nearly impenetrable capital with enemy forces kept at bay mostly by the environment alone. Situated on an oasis, one of the only sources of water in those lands, it is from here that the Hawk controld his outlying provinces, foodstuffs and other reasources being bought to Ysatis along routes that few interlopers know.

Blood may rule the rest of Alexander's conquests, but in the desert it is water that decides who lives and who dies.

    Artemisia III of Caria

    Age : 37 (Born 360 B.C.)
    Rank : Queen of Caria
    Dynasty : Hecatomnid
    Marital Status : Married
    Children :
    --Idrieus, age 20
    -Amestris, age 18
    -Corinna, age 15
    - Asmina, age 14

The sole child of Ada of Caria and Idrieus, Artemisia was raised to be first her father's heir and then her mother's after Idrieus died in 344 B.C. She would flee Caria with her mother when her uncle Pixodarus seized the Satrapy of Caria to the fortress of Alinda, continuing her studies in politics and warfare for when she would succeed her mother or attempt to lead a force of loyal retainers to reclaim Caria from her uncle(or post-335 B.C., Pixodarus' son in law.). However, neither scenario came to pass as Alexandros III Megas entered Caria a year after her uncle's death and after taking Halicarnassus, Ada was installed by Alexander as Satrap of Caria and she named Alexander her heir in gratitude for being restored to her position. Artemisia would remain in Caria with her mother leading the remains of Caria's forces not killed in battle against the Macedonians/were already sent eastward to join Darius III's armies/ or left with the Macedonian army in keeping peace until her mother's death, then receiving a letter from Alexander that she would be Satrap of Caria provided she swore fealty to him, which she did. Now with Alexander's death, the Carian Queen aims to keep her present domain while eying potential expansion targets.

    Idrieus

    Age : 20 (Born 343 B.C.)
    Rank : Heir to Caria
    Dynasty : Hecatomnid
    Marital Status : Married
    Children :
    - Lysander, age 3
    - Olympias, age 3

    Pentheus Protótoko

    born: 343BC

Martial Status: Married (Zenobia the Damascan, the Twin Blood)

    Children:
Antiochus (the Syrian, the Prince of the Three Bloods)
    born: 323BC

He is Thessilian by birth, and so grew up with an almost natural affinity with horses. However, he never truly mastered riding like his younger brothers, which did not sit well with his noble father. Destined for a somewhat simple life, Pentheus wished to be better than his brothers, greater than his father.

He did not fight for Philip, although near the end of the King's life the young Thessilian did have dreams of joining the all-conquering army.

His chance came when Alexander made preparations for his eastern wars. Through the influences of his father, Pantheus joined the Hypaspists, and quickly earned his way to command after only two years of campaigning.

He was restless during the war, eating less than his men but still being to the first to wake, the first to begin marching, the first in to battle. If the King Alexander needed something done, then Pantheus was who he turned to.

Growing up in the army did not make him forget home, however. Agreeing with his men, Pantheus refused to continue with the easternly conquest. He wanted to share in the spoils of victory which had taken ten years to amass.

During the Partition, Pantheus was set to receive only a fraction of what he did. He received the city of Tripolis and the coastal lands north of it. The Thessilian was angered by this, as was those troops who continued to serve him. One of them proposed that he use deceit to gain more land. Another advised war.

It was during this heated discussion that Pantheus came across his brainhild: marriage. Almost as if by the will of the gods, the Queen of Damascus was also Queen of Aleppo, through the blood of her mother. While her visible power was supposed to vanish with the installation of a Macedonian Satrap, she still retained the almost habitable loyalty of her people.

With the binding of native beauty to foreign hero, Pantheus now controls a land to rival any of his more fortunate 'comrades'.

    Timaeus 'Makedonos' of Aigai

    Nicknames: 'Makedonos' ('the tall/high one')

    Age: 52 (born 375 BC)

    Family:
    Apollonia (wife, age 49)
    Berenice (daughter, age 28)
    Laodice (daughter, age 23)
Demetrius (son, age 18, see below)

Born to an undistinguished Macedonian metal-worker
in the former royal capital of Aigai in 372 BC, Timaeus did not at first seem to be destined for greatness; his huge and brawny figure made him a prime candidate for a front-line soldier, but not even he expected to rise any higher than a low-ranking officer in the infantry. That all changed as he won renown for himself by felling many enemies, saving the lives of his comrades and (as he steadily climbed the ranks) flawlessly executing the orders of his superiors on the battlefield over a 30+ year career that began when he first joined the Macedonian army in time for the Battle of Erigon Valley against the Illyrians, 358 BC. Philip II first took notice of him at the conclusion of the Olynthian War of the early 340s BC, where again his conduct was exemplary, and by the time of the Battle of Chaeronea he had become a high-ranking phalanx officer (and again he acquitted himself nobly in the fighting against the Theban phalanx there). Due to his humble birth Timaeus was never made one of the Somatophylakes nor did he play a notable role at the Macedonian court, but he did win the confidence of both Philip and his son Alexander through his loyalty and capability to execute any orders he was given quite successfully, and from 334 onward he accompanied Alexander as a full Strategos in his Persian campaigns out east.

Timaeus was present from the Battles of the Granicus and Issus; to the great Siege of Tyre, where he was one of the first men off of the siege towers; at Gaza, where he received a distinctive scar across his cheek while leading the assault on the city; and finally at Gaugamela, where he successfully directed his section of the phalanx to open up and allow the Persian scythe-chariots to storm through harmlessly. He then fought across Persia proper with Alexander, participating at the Persian Gates and finally at Jaxartes. After Jaxartes, Alexander assigned him to govern Judea & Samaria in his absence, and Timaeus played no further role in the final conquest of the eastern half of the Achaemenid Empire. In Judea he found himself in the company of the native Jews, whose monotheistic religion and native customs he found odd - but as Alexander's orders to him were literally to 'keep the peace' and not 'enforce Hellenic customs & our pantheon on them no matter the cost', he was careful to accommodate their demands and allow them to worship their God in peace so long as they remained loyal - just as the Persians had. These Jews in turn, at least those among them who could speak his tongue, simply called him 'Makedonos' or 'the tall/high one', both after his great size and strength as well as due to his ethnicity. As Alexander lay dying in 323 BC, Timaeus rushed to his side and finally mourned once the great man had drawn his last breath, even though he did not know the King half as well as some of his other companions; for he was the finest soldier the old man had ever served under and was responsible for finishing his transformation from the nobody son of a nobody metal-worker into a noteworthy general and territorial governor. At the Partition of Babylon he was allowed to hold on to his Judean domains.

Timaeus is a simple man, some even dare say brutish. He does not like to speak a lot, and is no rhetorician; he is wonderful at firing up his soldiers before battle with blunt, short but effective wartime speeches, but should not be expected to debate or persuade in the eloquent way of the Greek orators. Under Alexander, he was noted to be more than capable of executing any order given to him, but showed little initiative of his own on a strategic scale. That said, he is no fool and possesses a mind for both military planning and peacetime administration, nor is he pointlessly cruel. He may have little interest in the culture and faith of his new Jewish subjects, but he allows them to practice their customs anyway, and is not at all perturbed by his only son's interest in their ways either. Finally, his loyalty does shine in an area outside of warfare as well - to date he has been faithful to his wife Apollonia, a Macedonian woman of low birth who he married before he rose up the social ladder, and has refused to take other wives or concubines (though he has occasionally dallied with prostitutes while far-removed from her) even when it could have been advantageous to him.

    Demetrius, son of Timaeus

    Nicknames: None

    Age: 18 (born 341 BC)

Demetrius is the polar opposite of his old man - though quite tall and brawny, he is sharper-eyed and thus far beardless. Fancying himself a philosopher in the making, Demetrius has jumped headfirst into the scholarly pursuits Timaeus completely ignored, and has done much to ingratiate himself with the elite of Judea where he's spent the better half of his life to date. He is no warrior, but possesses a sharp mind for both strategy and philosophy, and has studied the Greek classics - rhetoric, grammar, arithmetic, medicine, the various liberal arts as taught by the ancients - in addition to military manuals while at the same time opening his mind to Jewish customs and thought. The latter has given his devout mother cause for worry, as Demetrius is more than a little fascinated with Judaism and ceaselessly pesters their priests and prophets over the nature of God, the history of the Jewish people and more recently, how one can become a Jew and what it takes to court a Jewish girl.

    Imhotep
    Age: 33
    Marital Status: Married
Children: A single Daughter, two sons

Born and raised in Thebes Imhotep, like many of his Egyptian kin, chaffed under the oppression of the Persian Empire. Though up until Alexander's arrival he was powerless to do anything about such things. When Alexander arrived the Egyptian people rose up in support of him, Imhotep was made the Satrap of Upper Egypt by Alexander's word and remained such after the collapse of the empire.

Imhotep had great respect for Alexander but wants to clear away all foreign influence in the region - Hellenic influence included. He is a shrewd man and calculating, though a strong and independent Egyptian nativist he prefers using tact to change the world to benefit himself rather than rushing head long into conflicts.

    Nikoklis of Salamis

    Age: 30
    Title: King of Cyprus

Perseus was born as the first son and heir of King Pyntagoras, the ruler of the city-state of Salamis on the island of Cyprus. He was tutored by the best men that his father could get his hands upon, learning both the languages and text of his Persian overlords, at that time, and the nearby Greeks and Egyptians to the south of Cyprus. He learned mathematics from a Greek, seamanship from a Rhodian, and military tactics from a Persian. From this early education, Perseus developed into an intelligent and cunning, albeit somewhat cautious man. In the year 336 BC, Persues succeeded his father as the King of Cyprus as King Pyntagoras perished while on a trip to Tyre when his trireme capsized in a rough storm.

After the armies of his Persian overlords were defeated by the armies of Alexander the Great at the Battles of the Granicus River and Ipsus, Perseus joined several other Cypricot nobles in a revolt from their Persian masters and placed their support behind the strength of Alexander the Great. The forces of Salamis and other Cypricot cities like Phaphos and Amathus performed well for Alexander in his campaigns afterwards, especially in the siege of Tyre where Cypricot ships were absolutely vital to ensuring the fall of Tyre.

After Alexander's death, conflict erupted in Cyprus as two feuding parties, one led by Perseus himself, fought over the control of Cyprus now that both their Greek and Persian masters were gone. After a very short war that climaxed with a naval battle outside the very harbor of Salamis, King Perseus proved to be triumphant and became the undisputed master of Cyprus. Now with the struggles of Alexander's successors just beginning, King Perseus lays at an important crossroad as he struggles to maneuver through the politics of this new era to ensure the survival of his beloved homeland.

    Name: Leonidas Haykeos
    Age: 42 (born 365 BC)
Marital Status: Married... A few times, most recently to a Macedonian noble lady who has mysteriously died very recently, so not married anymore
    Children:
Eldest son Pericles (formerly Darius), born to his first (Persian) wife, age 22
Daugher Alexandra (formerly Mariam), born to his second (Persian) wife, age 17
Younger son Alexander, born to his third (Greek) wife, age 15
Biography: Leonidas is what most would call a scumbag, who comes from a long line of scumbags. However, being such a scumbag has made him a shrewd politician, due to the complete lack of any higher faculties such as loyalty or empathy. His family was, before the Persian invasion, a very minor noble house in Pontus, though vaguely related to a powerful house in their native Armenia. When Persia invaded and conquered the region, the Hayk family was elevated to the regional satrapy purely because they happened to run over a few other families in line to swear allegiance to Persia and were thus first to do so. The newly christened Haykemid family ruled Pontus the entire duration of the Persian occupation of the region, until at last the satrapy fell to Cyrus Haykemid. Cyrus, being a consummate politician, knew that Alexander was almost inevitably going to reach at least to Pontus, and decided that swearing allegiance to him would be the best way to maintain power. Thus, Cyrus stood in front of his capital's gates and when Alexander advanced to besiege the city fell at the feet of the emperor's horse, claiming to be overjoyed at seeing their salvation. Cyrus told the emperor that he had been fighting the Persians his whole life and been awaiting the moment that a Greek would come to free them from the Persians' oppression. Meanwhile, whilst Cyrus held Alexander outside the gates, the Pontus guard took down all the Persian flags and banners which Cyrus had had ordered in case the Persians paid a visit. Whether Alexander believed Cyrus's lie or simply didn't care about who was in charge of Pontus, Alexander left Cyrus to rule the city and continued on. Cyrus, however, knew that he had a very Persian name, and so asked a Macedonian soldier on his way out who the greatest of the Greek heroes was. The soldier told him that Leonidas of Sparta was the greatest, for he and his 300 Spartans died in battle defending against a Persian horde much larger. And so, because the Hayk family has been nothing if not unimaginative, Cyrus took the name Leonidas and hellenized his surname to Haykeos. Since then, he has lived being a scumbag, and that's really all there is to the guy. He's kind of a jerk.

    Aristyes of Makedon

    Age: 46 years of age
Family: Theodora of Ionia, his wife, 38 years of age
Alexander, son, 10 years of age
Helen, daughter, 6 years of age
Bio: Arysties was one of the generals in the armies of Alexander and of Phillip, his father, he fought in many battles and killed many men under the Macedonian banner. On Alexander's initial campaigns he took grievous wounds and was forced to remain behind in the city of Ionia, recovering. Due to his prolonged stay in the Greek city Alexander named him satrap of Ionia and a stripe of the Anatolian shoreline, he married Theodora, one of the healers who had nursed him and named his firstborn Alexander to honor his great King. For long years afterwards he ruled the lands granted to him, seemly content with running it as a personal Kingdom and desiring no further glory, Aristyes rules tyrannical with an Iron fist squashing any who dare oppose him however he is also apt to speeches and manipulation managing to keep a resemblance of order on his lands. With the death of the last King of Makedon Arysties decided to crown himself King, something he was in all but name.

A huge man bloodthirsty and lusty he seems to be able to entertain such vices in peace time, seeking no unnecessary wars with his neighbors and seeking to ensure his rule of Ionia and the coast. He possesses some sort of low cunning and skill at arms, although wearied by the years, but he is still ruthless with his foes foreign to the concept of mercy.
"We all know whatmy brother would do. Robert would gallop up to the gates of Winterfell alone, break them with his warhammer, and ride through the rubble to slay Roose Bolton with his left hand and the Bastard with his right. I am not Robert. But we will march, and we will free Winterfell … or die in the attempt."

Ok bro several things, one, this game is in 323 now, so your guy would be like 11 years old

Two, Antioch and where you want to play is claimed if I remember

Three, the Real life Selecus Nicator started his empire out in Mesoptoamia, and Sececuia wasnt founded yet, again, this is right after the death of Alexander, it wasnt till 10 years after his death in the second Diadochi war in which the RL Selecus gained territory and an empire
