Welcome Gods and Goddess to the world of Olympus!
Please watch out for the wine fountains floating nearby and the thunder bolts lying around. Oh! And Hades has quite a temper these days. Just blow out his flaming hair, should calm him down.

The Provincial Claim shall begin shortly. Before we begin, I wish to make some notes.
1. Jokern will be listed in the Macedon AOR, but will not be claiming any territories. He has decided not to play a ruling character, but a Thracian Mercenary who will serve one of the Macedonian players. In the beginning, however, he will be the leading character for the major event to happen in Macedon starting this week.
2. Bastard Feudalism, by express permission of the moderators and evidence, has been allowed to play a migrating Celtic Tribe north of the Macedonian and Greece AORs. He is granted 30,000 starting troops and will not be able to replenish these numbers unless he settles in an AOR. He may, however, be able to recruit from local tribes if he so wishes it through roleplaying and conquest.
This is allowed mainly due to the fact that he will present himself as both a potential threat and ally to the Balkan AORs and beyond.
3. Honors Bastion has decided to claim either Rhodes or Cyprus. Please keep these provinces unclaimed until he decides on which he will want.

With majority of the claims done and only Persia is left to finish (2 players left to claim their territories), I will open up a sign-up thread for characters. Hopefully Persia will be finished by tonight, tomorrow or the weekend.
Players may be allowed to make home threads. However I ask that no serious roleplay or expansion begin until tomorrow (at the earliest). Any serious roleplaying threads found will be locked till tomorrow.
Tomorrow, I will throw up the Events Thread for all the beginning events of 323 BC.
Thank you.

Major update! The Persia AOR has been made a little smaller while India has been enlarged. Thanks to some historical and geographical research done by Zectorman. India shall also be renamed Far East. Changes will be seen momentarily!

As a result of this change, I have edited the manpower sizes for the Persian and Far East AOR's to represent this change. The Persian AOR has increased to 2,500 from 2,400 to compensate slightly for the lost provinces while the far East AOR manpower has been decreased to 3,500 to compensate for the fact that it nearly doubled in size.
Got me Keltoi up, though I won't be entering the game until 322 at least.
I made him rather familiar with the Balkans, so as to not be so disadvantaged, and to give him a "ambitious, social climber" feel (marrying a Hellenic Princess, perhaps?)![]()
So ... how many Alexandria's are we going to get?
Very tempted to rename Byzantium to Alexandria by the Straight or something.
There were around 20+ of them. (of the 70 number cities founded overall by Alexander)
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alexand...isambiguation)
In the east alone we have :
Alexendria in the Causcus
Alexandria Eschate
Alexandria Ariana (Herat)
Alexandria Arachosia (Kandahar)
Alexandria Bucephalous
Alexandria Nicaea
Alexandria in Orietai
Alexandria on the Indus
Alexandria in Opiania (Ghazni)

Ferdinand Von Terl, he knew how to RP before you could even Speak your name!
Mine will either be Pella or Thessalonica.

Mine will be Thebes.
New Map is posted in the Map Thread (under Province Map (Player Nations)). All NPC nations have been added to fill in the gaps. Its a colorful scheme yes, but I do have the Numbered Map above it so that way people can easily access it. If this proves to be to hard for people to read, I will make up alternatives.
I may do one right now.
There are two official maps for players. The first one is a map including both player and npc nations. The second only has player nations. This second map should make it easier for players who may not be able to find their nation among the many npc nations.
Map with Player and NPC Nations
Map with only Player Nations
Note again that the Dark Grey is Sparta and Crete, not a player nation.

Reason why I did the second map is that, yeah it may be extra work, but I found the old SoI map was a great mess with all the different colors and wording on it. Just makes my job as well as everyone else's job so much easier to have a map that shows not only player and npc nations, but alsoa map with just player nations only.

Probably a bloody stupid question, but is there a map where I could see what provinces I have actually claimed? By this, I mean in historical terms I.E. It's clearly known where Pella etc is, but I'm not exactly sure what areas my selections corrospond to.![]()
I think you claimed the area around Persepolis, the ceremonial capital of the Achaemenid Empire.

Indeed...
I believe I have Karmania, Parthia and Sagartia...and one other, but I just don't want to go stepping on peoples toes if I'm incorrect is all.
EDIT;
Okie dokie, after some research I belive I control these provinces-
Parthia (Eastern half)
Sagartia (Not certain of name in Alexander's time...)
Kamania (Northern half)
Parsa/Persis (N.Eastern territories)
Anyone feel free to correct me, but that's how I've corellated it thus far, historically anyway.
