Default Info on the second demo

I signed up for the MT2TW newsletter a while ago and they sent me an email about the new demo we have heard about. It will be the battle of Otumba (between the aztecs and spanish). According to the newsletter this will be available to all those who preordered from Amazon. It says they will get an email telling them how to get it on the 24th of October but says nothing of a public release to those who havnt preordered from them.

This is true and Im not pulling everyones leg as part of some sick stunt and I would show print screens of that part of the email (but im not sure if that is legal sound so havnt done). I will post a screen print if Im allowed too, but until I am told I can I wont.

I think seeing the Aztec battle would be cool, but I am sad that the new demo will be for Amazon preorderers. I hope it goes public some time after.

Yes it will be released public a few days after so don't worry.
I'm really looking forward to the new demo and the aztecs.
Also a another good way to test to see how your computer will handle it because Otumba will be a big battle.

pahh, who cares about a demo... cant they release the game already

lol... I think the main reason that they release this demo is because it supports SSE and they want the rest of the people (who doesn have SSE) to play and try out the game.

Agreed, I really don't care about the whole Americas end game, I would like to see some Turk action against the Byzantines.

Even though the discovery of the Americas does not belong to the medieval age it still adds great variety to the game. We know have a totally different culture which means new buildings, walls, terrain, troops and all of that. Which i believe will make the game alot more enjoyable. I just can't wait until Medieval 2: Total war! It will be released at my birthday! (It's the 14th, right?)

I'm amazed at how many people believe that the Aztecs are in North America...

I disagree. After reading Diaz' firsthand accounts of his wars in Mexico under Cortes (discussed in the Vestigia Vetustatis), the conflicts between the Spanish and Mexicans are breathtakingly awesome. And if CA do it right, the battle of Otumba will blow everyone way.

Hopefully this means I can play on shader 2 this time. Shader 1 looks like crap and the unit models are tiny.

I agree they were very interesting and cool, but I would've perfered CA left them out of this game.(Along with the whole "Renaissance" era.)And saved it for a sequel/Expak. I mean, trying to cram six centuries into ONE campiagn just seems really cheap.(Owell, to late to complian about it now. MTR awaits!)

I agree, its medieval total war and not reinassance total war after all.

the medieval ages ended when America was discovered.

Ah well I am sure that there will be a mod released sometimes to remove the entire endgame and keep the game in the medieval period. cannons are fine with me but I dont want musketeers. Only gunpowder for siege units, thats good enough for me and I still prefer trebuchets and catapults for that.

i saw something crazy on the history channel, when cortez landed he had only 500 spaniards with him and they well started destroying the aztecs' statues and things, then the aztecs led them into an ambush where 200,000 i believe it was attacked the spanish 500, the spanish won amazingly, only losing two men, it shows that steal armour, heavy swords, and gunpowder would beat wooden clubs under any circumstances lol.

he was an excellent commander and diplomat...

he managed to throw together a coalition of tribes under his command in a short time despite being completley alien to the landscape and culture.

also a completley ruthless and cruel person as well i would imagine.
