    Default Making Saxons playable in Britannia.

    A very quick question.
    I modded some unpacked files in my game. However, only descr_start changes seem to show up. Game dont seem to react to changes made to unpacked files like expanded.txt or sm_descr_factions, or descr_buildings.
    I remember there was some command to add to medieval2 executable to fix that, but i dont remember which one was it.
    Can somebody help me?

    The answer is in the Unpacker's readme about adding the io_filefirst = true switch to the target in the game/mod's icon.

    In a Kingdoms mod it's in the mod's .cfg file.

    All of those are in the pack files. Nothing new. Did you delete the map.rwm in the data\world\maps\base folder and start a new campaign?
    Did you delete the two files mentioned in the unpacker's readme?

    Well, i think i screwed something up, as i have deleted one file i modded (win conditions to be exact) and returned back to the stock version, but then for some reason it stopped crashing. But i have seen that all of my changes are gone again... io file first is in both cfg and on batch file...

    And yes, i removed geography files, but forgot about map.rwm.

    The game was crashing at the point of faction selection. When i clicked on Saxon shield, game crashed.

    Yes, of course. Here is the list of all files i modded:

    descr_start
    campaign_descriptions
    descr_sm_factions
    descr_win_conditions
    expanded
    export_buildings
    export_descr_buildings
    export_descr_buildings_enums

    I used those to add faction description, victory conditions, change saxons to pagan, and add saxons to the game.

    The thread name isnt really fitting, as we are talking about vanilla M2TW here, but thats a minor thing.

    Do you think i should just reinstall whole game and do my modding again, or i can somehow repair this?

    How about doing a fresh install and using something like this to do your modding?

    Well, i know what GeoMod is about (i made a mod with it for Britannia), so i might give it a try on vanilla. Thanks.
    For now, i will reinstall the whole game again and this time, i will register what i changed. I will be back if i will encounter some problems.
