Bug fix Patch for HTW 3.6

    To all:
Neph has stated that he will be taking a brake for some time. And he has asked us to do the balancing and bug fixing for him until he gets back.

This thread is for posting any bug fixes that any one has achieved. Whether by file download, or posting script to be edited. All posts must have a bug fix in it. Do not clutter this thread. All bug fixes must be tested before you post them here.(Don't make this harder to fix by posting some thing wrong or unnecessary. Thank you.)

    {Una}Una
{Una_descr}Leader of the Twili Sorceress Una is a great fairy dwelling in the Realm of Twilight. Banished through Mirror of Twilight with other Dark Interlopers for trying to steal the triforce. Along with Veran and Morsheen she was the only great fairy to survive in the Realm of Twilight. Together they control the Twili kingdom formed by the Interlopers decendants until Zants rebellion.

copy this into export_units.txt above the entry for Argorok and below King zant

    {Repentant} Repentants
{Repentant_descr} The Repentant are Twili who have begun to embrace the World of Light and have turned their back on Twili culture and the heritage of the Dark Interlopers, going as far as to spend extended perioes of time in Hyrule's sunlight to burn their skin. Armed with a machette and shield, these fearsome warriors feel little pain as they confront their enemies in battle.

copy this right over the old Repentants entery

    {Deku_Catapult} Deku Catapult
{Deku_Catapult_descr} These crude engines created by the Deku Scrubs are able to hurl projectiles like most other Catapults. While not exactly the most accurate of siege weapons, these Catapults can fling several explosive Deku Nuts fair distances.

copy this in under Deku babas short desciption in export_units.txt

these will fix 3 occasions of the unlocalized placement text bug

    NOTE
Tedster I believe Vaati is not meant to be played with as he will crash the game after he runs out of ammo his stats are also rather low for a boss unit

    Opps I was wrong.

To make Vaati and Twili Onox appear in custom battles go into export_descr_unit.txt and go to Vaati and Dark_Onox and edit the following line of text by removing the highlighted for both

    attributes hardy, can_withdraw, frighten_foot, frighten_mounted, no_custom

The only problem with this is that Twili Onox has the unlocalized placement text bug, so somebody may need to think of some text to place in there , hope I was of some help.

edit: I added the following to Twili Onox, place it underneath Middee's description in export_units.txt (which is in the text file, which is in the data file)

    {Dark_Onox}Onox
{Dark_Onox_descr}Onox is a Dark Dragon, who lived in the Realm of Twilight long before the arrival of the Interlopers. A strong imposing figure within the Twilight armies, he is often called upon by his wife Veran to lead her armies against any, who oppose the Great Fairies.

Im not sure if my grammar is perfect, but it's just something, also massive thanks to @Zalanum for showing me how to do that in his post

Notice: A new patch is out! The attachment for this patch has been removed.

Let's see how well this works...

I present to thee, the first Community Hotfix Patch! Just download it from the attached zip folder from this post. (Disclaimer: It is not actually a patch. All you go is copy, paste, and replace some files.)

    Changelog - Community Patch 1:
    - Fixed Agitha's crash
    - Added descriptions for Una, Repentants, Deku Catapults, and Dark Onox
    - Vaati and Dark Onox are available for use in Custom Battles!
    - As a special treat for those who download the patch and are working with 3.6, I've added in something of my own. Check out the Custom Battles!
-- This will be a one time only event and will not be available in future patches. Enjoy it while you can.

    Directions:
Simply copy and paste the Hyrule folder included inside the zip file to your Medieval II mod folder and let it replace any files it needs to. That's all you need to do!

NOTICE: Applying the patch may render your save games incompatible. Be careful when overwriting your existing files! This is a lie.

I just wanted to thank you guys for posting these fixes up here. When I come back I can simply copy and paste instead of hounding through the game to find things.

You might need to fix that readme file.

APPLYING THIS HOTFIX WILL LIKELY RENDER YOUR SAVE FILES TO BE INCOMPATABILE. BE WARNED BEFORE APPLYING THIS PATCH!

In normal letters, the hotfix may break your save games. Be careful of this!
This is false. Since the campaign_script.txt file is not modified, your save files are safe.

It is like this doesn't even exist... *cries* (Well, I guess if no one downloads it, the special stuff I put in will really be exclusive. I would have thought people would have found out by now and be posting it all over the place, or everyone is keeping it a secret from everybody.) [To download it, this post is on the first page of this topic - it is an attachment.]

I will be releasing another Community Patch this Friday, July 11th, with all the bug fixes people have posted and the first balance pass. I should resume work on community stuff for HTW tomorrow. (It is a poor excuse, but I am currently playing Vindictus trying to power level Lynn to 60 before the event is over. Sue me for my priorities. )

Don't worry. I appreciate what you put in.
Also, it doesn't seem to have actually fixed the Public Baths error, as I'm still able to build them as other factions.

Public Baths can be built by Lizalfos, Lanayru, and the Zora. The issue in the original code was that there was a lack of a comma after the Lizalfos.

Alternatively, you downloaded the first Community Patch during the brief period I had it up. I uploaded another one about an hour later called 1A which includes the Public Bath fix.

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
    Code:
    building health{
        levels public_baths
        {
            public_baths requires factions { zora, lanayru, lizalfos, } and building_present_min_level hinterland_issettlement issettlement_3
            {
                capability
                {
                    population_health_bonus bonus 2
                    population_growth_bonus bonus 1
                }
                material wooden
                construction 2
                cost 800

    give_everything_to_faction herooftime gohma false

    send_character_off_map Agitha
    spawn_army
    faction gohma
    character Agitha, named character, age 38, x 149, y 103, portrait Agitha, hero_ability Toxic_Swarm, direction N
    unit Infested_Agitha exp 0 armour 0 weapon_lvl 0
    unit Gohma Larva exp 0 armour 0 weapon_lvl 0

add this to campaign script over the same spot this will screw up saves the bug would have Agitha spawn for the Lizalfos instead of the Gohma

edit: Gohma needs to be lower case gohma VERY IMPORTANT

    Community Patch 2 - Changelog
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
    General:
    - Majora's influence has waned. The special event I added in Patch 1 has now been removed.
    - Removed the both lines of the shared Barracks structure. All factions should have their own unique methods of troop recruitment. NPC factions should still function with their NPC Barracks intact.
-- I also removed the "Secondary" barracks structure.

    - Fixed Mirror Gate Guardian, Biggoron, Dark Onox, Empress, and Una portraits.
    - Biggoron bug fixed.
    - Agitha crash when spawning in the Freeform Campaign fixed.
    - Fixed the infamous Turn 15 crash.
-- Specifically, this causes the River Zora to spawn over the course of several turns instead of all at once. The strain of so many units spawning causes older PCs to experience the crash.

    - General Onox now joins Zant after taking Uza in the Twilight Civil War.
    - Added the trimmed down and proofread export_units.txt.

    Balance Pass

    Freeform Campaign:
    - Small start on Freeform Campaign Trait Balancing for Gohma, Moblins, and Labrynna - they now have basic stats as the other factions.

    Gorons:
    - Goron Bomb Flowers require 2 turns to be built, up from 1.
    - Goron Explosives (Structure) require 4 turns to be built, up from 2.
    - Goron Armory (Recruitment Structure) requires 4 turns to be built, up from 1.

    Zora
    - To construct either Barracks (melee or magic) takes 2 turns to build, up from 1.
    - The second tier now takes 3 turns to build, up from 2.
-- This tier also now requires Settlement Level 3.
    - The final tier for the Magic barracks allowing for Mage Cannons now takes 4 turns to construct, up from 3.

    - Floodmasters now take 4 turns to recruit, up from 2.

Notes: Floodmasters and Supremes are available at the second tier upgrade.

    Kokiri
    - Slingshots take 2 turns to recruit, up from 1.
    - Emerald Archers take 4 turns to recruit, up from 3.
    - The Kokiri Alliance structure takes 5 turns to build, up from 2.
    - The Shrine of Courage takes 3 turns to build, up from 1

    Gohma
    - Gohma Specialization Structures (Royal, Enlongate, Hive Defense, Gapped, Massive) now take 5 turns to build, up from 2.

    Ordona
    - Hawkmen are now trained at the Ranger Base instead of the secondary barracks. (The Hawk Roost upgrade to the Ranger Base has not yet been implemented)
    - Fixed Militia Base to spawn Ordona Militiamen instead of Rangers.
    - The Animal Ranch adjustment did not make it into this patch due to crashing issues.

Note: On the back end, I moved the Animal Ranch location in code to where all the Ordona stuff is.

    Lanayru Province:
    - Scorpion Nests now takes 3 turns to build instead of 2.
    - Crab Nests now takes 4 turns to build instead of 2.

    Ikana:
    - Ikana Fissures take as long to build as the tier they are end. So, a Level 1 Fissure takes one turn while a Level 6 fissure takes six turns.

    Labrynna:
    - Labyrnna Gunners no longer fire by rank and have their soldier size reduced from 75 to 40.

    Stalfos:
    - Rotting Scrubs now have locked morale, an ability they lacked compared to the rest of the Stalfos forces.
    * * * * *

So, here it is, Community Patch 2! In addition to lots of bug fixes, the main feature of this patch is the first attempt to balance HTW, focused on recruitment and build times.

I will attempt to release patches weekly on Friday (US Central Time), with all the fixes provided by the community and the attempts to balance HTW. Remember, play testing these balance patches are important too, so give them a try!

With nothing else to be said, I hope you enjoy the efforts from the community to improve HTW!

    "Labrynna:

How to return this to normal?

I want the Labrynna Gunners to fire by rank and to keep their old numbers.

I fixed the earth reapers name so no more underscore. I'm just going to upload my export_units file which is up to date with the community patch.

Went through a thorough proofread of all unit descriptions and fixed all grammar/spelling/etc mistakes that I found. Might still be missing a few, though.
