Default MTW2 Demo nonscripted battle Agincourt

    Ave!

I am announcing the first workable result of my investgations in the MTW2 Demo Historical Battle Agincourt modifying ....

It is now to play the nocscripted battle, form the start position of the England next to the wind mill. For the first time we will see the ai formations from MTW2 in usage and also the a bit strange defined widths of units in MTW2 EDU.txt file.

For more information go to the thread dedicated to thees invetsigations in NTO in ModWorkshop subforum.

Enjoy and dont be too much critical, it si only such a fun, not some improvement or such stuff - you can continue in modifiactations to improve the starting positiion, modifying EDU, ai.formations, od the entire descr_battle.txt file, on which I have failed ....

    Awesome. Great job

Could you recommend a program to do the change which? Notepad does not seem sufficient for that task. I cannot find the agincourt file via ZigZag either.

    Ave Xennik!

Well, try this free universal editor with hex editor build in it (great product from a man from my country ....).

    PSPad

    ------------------------------

The strange and unequal widths of units are not caused by settings in EDU as I have stated above (sorry for my mistake ), but because they are defined in this manner in the original descr_battle script for Agincourt in data.pack ....

On another thing, I wolud like to know a man who will be able to win against the huge amount of French infatry and Cavalry devestating the long bowman. The AI formations are such simple as in vanilla RTW, but in this battle this doesnt matter. You as Englander will be lost the battle everytime anyway, in my opinion, while the French will suffer with the bad AI formations ....

Really, alot of fun this demo ...

All of Christendom is in awe about this victory. Comes with the relevant soundfile aswell btw.

Not the best victory, but I managed to repell the French in the unscripted battle

Are you serious? The 244 MB large data.pack file only because of one of bits changed?????

    Ave NoSiS!

Sorry, I have not wanted to sound harsh, however without changing the appropriate bit in each name by help of any hexeditor you will not be able to use these my findings .... The data.pack is so huge and the change is soo small that it is non-sense to distribute the changed file .... Be patiant and try to learn how to use some hexeditor - it is almost like chnging some string in Notepad, nothing more really, only in a bit different program.

Also, it wolud be possible that somebody from communnnity who is able to speak in English (compared to me) will create some brief tutorial how use the hexeditor.....

perhaps Xennik would be able to explain it a little better than Sinuhet?

Nonetheless, I've been watching Sinuhet through the whole "figuring out how the demo works" phase and congratulate you for going this far!

I changed the units in Agincourt.

You can apparantly change it to this.
