[DISCONTINUED][SUBMOD] Lnrd907's DEI Unit Retraining Submod for 0.9 (Update 0.3 Naval Upgrades for Rome and Carthage) Added to 0.95
A lot of DEI players have wanted since the scripted reforms came out for DEI that they be able to retrain the units instead of disbanding the units and recruiting new ones. I also requested it in the appropriate thread not realizing it had been asked countless times before. So I finally got the courage to try and mod it myself and it looks like it works. In this submod I have allowed all upgraded units to be utilized through the 1st Tier Military Technology. So all you have to do to activate this submod is research the 1st technology and it's activated. With the DEI script running in the background you won't be able to just keep upgrading units until you get the best unit either. I have set the upgrade cost the same price as the recruitment cost in the main_units tables. Save-game compatible with 0.9 campaigns. I am able to upgrade Carthage missile naval units but since they aren't tied to the script you would be able to upgrade to the best unit from the jump, so I didn't include them. Roman Reforms

Put the .pack file into the C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Total War Rome II\data directory and make sure its checked in the mod manager. (I've named it so that it loads before DEI)
*Unavoidable Issue- Only during Reform turn you will still be able to recruit some units from the past reform (The units being replaced). At that turn's end, the game engine will register the "unit override" and then act in accordance with DEI's script.
DEI team I want to thank you for such a great mod. I honestly can't go back to vanilla or other mods since I came to DEI. Been a loyal customer since February lol. I would love it if you guys just took this, edit it to your liking, and put it in the next update all I ask for is a shout out. Thanks again and keep up the great work.
Shoutout to Teukros and willyluo19 for the upgrade lines.
Please continue to suggest upgrade lines in the twcenter thread or in the Steam Workshop comment section. Using the main_unit names from the DEI pack file will help a lot.

Re: [SUBMOD] Lnrd907's DEI Unit Retraining Submod for 0.9
Ok, Admiral the problem with historical legion submod are the unique legions themselves and myself never playing the submod. The basic units are easy to do but I don't know which legionaire unit to upgrade the principes to, also the triarii and to turn the legionaires into what legionary cohort . In order for me to even start I'd need someone to compile an upgrade tree with the actual unit names in the main_units table file like I have above
August Strindberg: "There's a view, current at the moment even among quite sensible people, that women, that secondary form of humanity (second to men, the lords and shapers of human civilisation) should in some way become equal with men, or could so be; this is leading to a struggle which is both bizarre and doomed. It's bizarre because a secondary form, by the laws of science, is always going to be a secondary form. Imagine two people, A (a man) and B (a woman). They start to run a race from the same point, C. A (the man) has a speed of, let's say, 100; B (the woman) has a speed of 60. Now, the question is 'Can B ever overtake A?" and the answer is 'Never!'. Whatever training, encouragement or self-denial is applied, the proposition is as impossible as that two parallel lines should ever meet."
