Default Cannot find kingdoms.exe followed by yellow triangle

I am not that good with computers and this is the first mod I have downloaded without the steam workshop so please include all details in what I should do.
I recently bought the Medieval 2 total war collection on steam. I bought this in mind of using third age total war and maybe a few others. When it had downloaded which took three hours I tried each campaign and all five worked. (medieval 2, Americas, Britannia, Crusades and Teutonic) Then I downloaded ONLY third age 3.2 as on the site it said it was a standalone version. However after watching Lionheart on YouTube with his walk-through I decided that I needed to download all 4 parts. So after another 4 hours 3.0 part 1 and 2 were downloaded, I clicked the link for 3.1 but found that it no longer exists. So I tried to play anyway and an error popped up with 'cannot find kingdoms.exe' in command line interface and an error titled Medieval 2 with a yellow triangle.

So I searched for the fourth part just in case I needed it and all I found was viruses and no 3.1. I decided to uninstall all of third age and try again, I didn't know what else to do. In the meantime of waiting for it to install all over again I tried to play a regular kingdoms campaign. The loader came up I selected Americas and the screen immediately turned black and the same yellow triangle error came up. I then searched online for help on these forums and others and figured that Medieval 2 regular campaign would work because that was what had been happening to others. Kingdoms.exe (application in folder) wouldn't work but medieval2.exe did for the others. And medieval2.exe doesn't work either. Same black screen, same yellow triangle error.

Being the naive person I am I tried third age again anyway and now that CLI stating it can't find kingdoms.exe pops up and closes within a second followed a few moments after by the black screen and the yellow error.

I have seen that it isn't third age that doesn't work rather kingdoms.exe is faulty and I have spent two days trying to find solutions but either the solution doesn't work because it is for another error or just as I think I have found it the forum abruptly ends. So I wrote this.
Honestly if there is a way to simply reinstall medieval 2 from steam so it is clean then I would appreciate knowing how. Anything will be great because for all I know I just haven't found the correct solution and you already know it.

Details: Steam version of both medieval 2 and kingdoms. Followed lionheart who had shown me to place third age into (C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Medieval II Total War\mods) and I have renamed the file to Teutonic because I copied him step by step. I didn't download MOS because third age wasn't working. Any other information you require just ask and I will try to give it to you.

Hi there and welcome to TWC Forums!

1 a ) Remove currently failed TATW installation from your M2TW/ mods folder ( just delete TATW Files located there).

b ) Verify steam game cache to fix your Medieval II TW issues :

    2) Download this TakeOwnership.reg file : http://www.eightforums.com/tutorials...ndows-8-a.html , make a Backup of your Registry first and after that install this TakeOwnership.reg file.

    3) Then, take Ownership of your main M2TW folder ( right mouse click on your steam/ .../ Medieval II TW folder and select Take Ownership option).

    4) You need TATW 3.0 both parts and TATW 3.2 patch. 3.1 Patch is not needed.

    5) Go here and apply steps 4-a b c , and step 5 : http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showt...1#post13744280

    Good luck!

American, French, Israeli and British government's ILLEGAL aggression against the Syrian people, without any proof for chemical attacks in Douma, and without waiting for OPCW to conduct their investigation..

Sorry me again after reading these steps (assuming they would work) when you say edit the security do you mean take ownership? And where do I paste the Data file, into C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Medieval II Total War\mods ? Or into the Medieval 2 folder, (surely that would overwrite the original game?) Sorry for the rambling but I am just glad I can play third age vanilla despite what I am told so once again I really appreciate the speedy response.

Install MOS 1.6.2, which is the latest version. You should need to download MOS 1.6.2 Full Installer, plus, three bugfixes. You can use my instructions for the installation of MOS 1.6.2 Full Installer located here: http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showt...1#post12777403

And, for bugfixes, use instructions from Stylix: http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showt...1#post13507584

These instructions for Dwarf Crash thing should be used only if you installed TATW 3.2 Patch in a wrong folder. You can easily test do you need to follow these instructions: go to Custom Battles, and do a battle with Dwarven Axethrowers, if it crashes, you installed Patch 3.2 in a wrong place.

Read my response above, if Dwarven Axethrowers make your battle crash, then, use those steps.

data folder goes into C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Medieval II Total War ( Merge ALL folders when asked, Copy and Replace ALL Files if asked)

and, open mods folder, inside you will find Third_Age_3 folder. Open this Third_Age_3 folder, copy all files and folders present inside of this Third_Age_3 folder, and, paste them into your C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Medieval II Total War/ mods/ FOLDER WHERE your Third Age TW is installed.

Merge ALL folders when asked, Copy and Replace ALL Files if asked.
