Default Problems with Med 2 & Kingdoms Steam Version

    Hi all,
I just got the Med 2 collection On the summer steam sale.
I'm running Windows 8.1 the problem I'm having is I cant launch Med 2 from steam.
I had to create a desktop Icon from the exe in the steam 86 files and I can run the game from there.
However I tried to do the same with Kingdoms and it wont work no matter what.
Any ideas how I could fix this problem? Ideally I would like to be able to launch both from steam.
But I guess at this point I would be happy with any work around.
I got the steam version to replace my disc copies for the ease of use.
    Any help would be appreciated.

Kingdoms has to be run using one of the four campaigns that came with or a mod based on it. It is not a self standing .exe.
I don't have the Steam version and I still have Win 7 so I won't be much help.
    I prefer desktop icons myself.

Maybe it will work if you install/move your M2TW+Kingdoms anywhere else just not in your Program Files or Program Files(x86) folder.
American, French, Israeli and British government's ILLEGAL aggression against the Syrian people, without any proof for chemical attacks in Douma, and without waiting for OPCW to conduct their investigation..
Sons of *******, leave that poor, war torn country in peace.
If you are a citizen of one of these countries, then DO NOT ask any help from me on these forums, since, in protest against this aggression by your governments, I do not provide assistance/help anymore.
Let Syria be finally in peace.
