    Default Least favorite adversaries

    Hi all,

A number of threads already exist about what's everyone's favorite faction to play as, but what faction do you hate fighting against?
I'll start of with the Lusotannan, their numerous skirmishers which decimate both Roman and Karthadastim troops and the falcata make for a hard campaign.
Of course this all depends on your playing style.

as for the least favorite faction I like to play againt... well... Rome is always a tough cookie, followed by the Successor States

Seleukids. No doubt about it. Whether playing with Ptolemaioi, Pontos, Koinon or Pahlava, Seleukids and their blasted phalanx spawning will always remain a pain in my behind.
Other than that, Rome, for their spamming of Triarii and Pedites Extraordinarii. If they recruited a nice mix of all their troops and in greater quantity, I would be happy. Instead, I always seem to fight armies that are small but hard like a rock. This limits the use of tactics and I have to resort to brute force which is no effing fun.

Seleukids, for the reasons given. It's nearly impossible to defeat their infinite army spawn in autoresolve battles, because any pike phalanx unit is ludicrously OP in that mode. This means you'll have to waste a lot of time fighting almost every battle and skirmish manually. Close contenders are Ptolies and Carthage, and generally any faction that uses pikemen. Recently, I've had to face combined phalanx-catapract spam by Pahlava, which is probably even worse.

This. I hope so much that the phalanx is much weaker in EB 2.

Seleukids led by high-level family members. They can continuously spam phalanx armies that are already pretty hard to crack and the ridiculous bonuses those FM's give make them extremely hard to route. Often times, even though I've already flanked them on three sides, they manage to hold on long enough to fight until about 20 members are left alive (even considering that fighting to the death was never triggered).

As a Seleukid fan most hated armies are those steppes almost all cavalry armies (horse archers +damn bodyguards) and the romans (those almost infinite/unending full stacks which take a loooooooooooooooooooooooot of bridge battles to destroy them)....

Roman for sure. When I play seleukids I always go for world domination. When I get to roman lands however they send endless stacks of vigiles at you. They are weak but high in numbers and lead by a 10 star general every time. They battles are usually in gaul where there's forests everywhere hindering your phalanxes and cavalry. It becomes the biggest chore

the second most annoying would be fighting sweboz as the casse. Their line infantry is so much more superior to yours

Selekuids for sure. For some reason, they like to spam phalanx units more than any other successor state. Ptolemies and Macedon follow on 2nd and 3rd of course. I only faced Rome once, so I don't know for sure, but I'm guessing they'd be pretty tough as well. All the rest are cake. How can you possibly say Lusotannan is the hardest LOL?! They have crap units and are very easy to conquer in general.

The problem with Roman elite spam is that their units from Principes upwards are very difficult to kill.

Yes, but skirmish mode is bugged and anyway, Lusotannan have these huge unit size skirmisher units that are regularly set up in loose formation. One such unit takes up half of the battlefield. Not very difficult to kill, but annoying as hell.
