Default Looking for some advice on how to tweak this mod.

Let me start by saying I have no idea how any of this works (modding) and I really like this mod but sometimes, it just gets a touch too heavy.. too big... too slow. The campaign pace slows down so much that I lose interest. The AI attackes with ridiculous hordes of 2-3 stacks in every location (which doesn't make them harder to beat, it just takes longer, especially with how any two infantry units in DeI can poke their spears away at each other for hours).

I have too much money, not enough slots to recruit more armies (not that I would want that, that would just make the whole thing a bit steamrolly), enemy agent spam is a big minus but I guess that is a thing with this game.

Is there some kind of DeI lite? ^^

I've played around with the DB and made some changes myself, did plenty of testing and I've got it just about how I want it, too much info to type up here, but one thing that has made a pretty big difference is playing with 40 units, the AI tends to have fewer stacks but much larger, so I have fewer battles, but the battles are quite epic.

I've also removed AP damage from the game, gave all weapons a 10 damage boost, also added the former AP damage to this as well, as a result armor is much more important, the AP mechanic is very poor in my opinion, just because a weapon is good at piercing armor, it does not mean it is more damaging, yet this is exactly what they do, so converting the AP damage to normal damage, it gives the weapon a better chance of bypassing the armor, instead of ignoring it 100% of the time.

I reduced the initiative of all units by 1, reduced the flank and rear attack morale penalty by half, and also halved the melee defense bonus for the Hoplite phalanx ability, the melee attack of the units is far to low to be trying to hit Militia hoplites with 70+ melee defense, I also increased the Pikemen melee attack and weapon damage.
I've played DEI and Radious a lot, and a few others, but I'm finding my campaign now to be much more difficult than any of them, and so is my opponent in our head to head game, when DEI hit's version 1.0 I may post it in the sub mods for others to try.

I've been trying something lately that might help you, what you would get is basically the untouched vanilla game with only most of DeI's graphics part (not sure if that's what you want)

    1. Download the standalone DeI (not the steam one)
    2. Open it with PFM
    3. Delete all the subfolders except the "variantmodels" and "variantmeshdefinitions"
    4. Save it and activate it through the launcher as would any other mod

I tried this and it works fine, I tried this mainly to see if I could get the vanilla game without gameplay changes bu only graphic changes. Still there are many things that I like and miss from DeI gameplay-wise, mainly the reform system, the new units and the aor system; but there are many gameplay aspects in DeI that need polishing, which will surely come during the update from 0.95 to 1.00 IIRC.
