    Default SS 6.4 graphics artifacts and "unspecified error" crash

    I'm running SS 6.4 on Win 8.1, ATI 7870, Intel i5 3.4Ghz. Well into the game (around 200) turns I noticed I'd get weird artifacts when I clicked on Settlements, then the game would crash. I stopped clicking on Settlements and I was able to play, but now the game crashes on AI move (Byzantines).
    I am wondering if this is due to the large number of cities I own (192 currently). I know the SS map was expanded and maybe at some point you have more cities that Settlements can handle.

    I've tried all the posted remedies: deleted the "geography" files, worldmap, disabled UAC, reinstalled clean. The crash does not happen on a new game, only on the late stage of the game.

    I'm posting the images of the graphic artifacts, has anyone seen anything like that?

    Nice chevelle. That is really weird I have never seen that before. Does it happen consecutively? Have you tried any other mods to see if it happens on those also or is it a SS only issue?

    What does the error log say?

    I've reinstalled again and applied fixes. I've tested old savegames and seems that around turn 75 the graphical glitch kicks in. The game is still playable, as I mentioned, if I don't click the Settlements tab. Around turn 200 though it crashes on AI move.
    The log file from \mod\SS6.3 was created after I started a "Late" campaign (judging by the "Germanicu5" comment). The older ones had some errors related to not finding "unit_label", but this file does not show any of that error.

    unit labels aren't anything to worry about they don't cause crashes

    turn on trace in your log and repost it with a fresh crash please.

    Also check to make sure your using dedicated graphics instead of onboard for mtw2 and kingdoms and ss.

    right command, next time just zip it and post it to gamefront or whatever. but i didn't see anything in the log, but i think its a ui issue. If you can, copy the ui folder from a fresh 6.4 install (preferably a fresh download too) (found at ss6.3/data/ui) into your data folder and see if its a corrupted/missing file causing the problem, overwrite everything.

    I found a post saying that disabling the traits can fix crashes. I tried to use "disable_vnvs = true" in the console, but it does not work. Seems like the console commands in SS are not the same as MTW2. Does anyone know about that? Or how to disable the traits in config file maybe?
