Experience System
How the hell does it work ?
It's quite normal for me to kill 1300+ Iberians without loosing any unit on my own, but gaining no experience.
If i let the CPU fight the battle for me he kills 800 and looses 350, but 4-5 units get 1 or 2 experience.
So, which is the best way to get experienced troops ?

Re: Experience System
basicly to kill as many as you can with as less troops as possible. it think that the better units give more exp too, but not sure.
problem is that maybe you kill those iberians with many units and ai kills them with one two units, who get the exp

Re: Experience System
There is a quite a lot of detail in the thread I linked to. The formula for determining it is just very complicated.

Re: Experience System
Your units gain more experiance with autocalc. This makes it possible for the AI to get some experienced units. In my last campaign mac and germans sieged Patavium almost every turn and after a few sallies I began to autocalc. I got quite a few silver chevron hastati from this.

Re: Experience System
Yeah, even though it could get a bit over the top when golden chevron militia phalangites can repel entire legions on themselves...
