Good books with terrible covers

So I was perusing my local library, when I came upon what one would assume to be some trashy sci-fi novel.




That is, until I read the author of the book, Poul Anderson, one of my favorite authors of all time. Turns out some publisher thought it'd be great to release collections of his work, but slap on some semi-nude girls to "appeal to a younger audience."

Anyone else have any similar experiences?

pretty much any book released in the 80s has a terrible cover now. Especially fantasy/scifi.
