Default Video Review in German Magazine

Various magazines that come out next week will review M2TW. A german one, PC Games, has put a part of it's video review online today. There isn't much in it except a short fight between the French and the English and the narrator only describes what he's doing, so you don't miss anything if you don't understand German.

You can watch it online here:
    http://www.pcgames.de/?article_id=516483

Or download the FLV video file here:
    http://www.pcgames.de/stream/Medieval%20online.flv

I opened it with the FLV Player:

Please think of the battle setup and the early game version the magazine had - it should be a few weeks old - before you complain about the bad AI and the quickly routing units.

    Thank you.
PC Games will have a test in the magazine released next wednesday.
GameStar has nothing on medieval 2 this month.

The most worrying thing about that movie was the routing speed of the French...I saw no difference to RTW. Also, that WAS mass routing, despite what we have heart earlier on. :|

And yes, you said do not complain. But nevertheless. Scepticism is allowed The better when we are pleasently surprised.

Well for what I could read most of the french troops are milita troops and they aren't known for great morale .
Not to mention getting hit from the side from cavalry.
Also we have no idea what difficult level he is playing on.

His use of flaming arrows might have severely decreased the enemy's morale beforehand (although he claims his archers use flaming arrows because "the whole thing's happening at dusk").

He doesn't say what the French units are, though he says that his own infantry are spearmen.

One good cosmetic thing I noticed from it... The smoke trails for the flaming catapult rounds now dissipate after impact, instead of instantly blinking out of existence!

The video is a short excerpt of the review video you'll find on their magazine DVD.

Isn't that music from Rome, by the way? Somehow, it doesn't fit too well with the English... a placeholder, perhaps?

Whoa. That's one massive-ûber-insta-chain rout if I ever saw one! *Tries to keep his gag-reflex under control*.

How very, nightmarishly RTW-ish. What happened to the oh-so comforting developer blog we just read?

Pray it was on "Easy". Apparently the developer blog said that it would affect battle realism in accordance to morale and the likes. That could explain how awful that "battle" was.

The game hasn't gone Gold yet, so they're reviewing a not yet complete version fo the game.

Yup...sounded like RTW music...and it seemed that the video had a closer zoom capability than the demo does. WHo knows how recent or old a version was being demoed though? NOt much to get excited about one way or the other.
