The Mountain approached the gates of the capitol along with his lieutenants and squire. They gazed up at the walls and waited to be hailed. A long column of men stretched behind them in good marching order, with a group of about two thousand spread in a disorderly fashion off to one side. This group looked a bit more traveled, weather stained, and yet somehow strangely content looking. Gregor hadn't even bothered to see if anyone had decided to join him on the march, spending most of his time riding well ahead of the column with a small group of cavalry. He looked about him now to see if any had followed, any nobles worth mentioning, that is. Maybe a Lefford or two.

Myles Mooton had ridden out of castle at once when the news had reached him that the Westerland army was nearing the city. He climbed on top of the city walls and rushed over to the commander of the city watch.

The horns were heard as Lord Lannister's standard appeared over the horizon. The final host of the Westerland armies had arrived, bringing the total of troops up to over 50,000 strong. Lucion snaps the reins of his horse which gallops to where Ser Gregor was. The Lannister gave the Mountain a certain look since he noticed the gate was down.

Did you actually shout to get the City Watch's attention or did you think the gate would open to your roar, Ser Gregor?

Lucion sighs seeing he had to do the work and approached the gate by horse. His eyes gazed up at the walls.

I am Lucion of House Lannister, Lord Paramount of the Westerlands, Lord of Casterly Rock and Warden of the West. My armies have come to pledge their allegiance to the King, Aerys of House Targaryen, the Second of His Name. Open your gates so that we may rest for awhile.

Ser Lorch arrived ahead of schedule. His raven ringlets falling across his face, flowing back in the breeze. He wore partial plate, black as night and his bastard sword venom hung at his hip. His golden eyes shined as he approached the Mountain that Rides. Still haven't opened the gates? He looked over the monstrous man before him, Should be little wonder.

[OOC: For the sake of moving this along, LM is online, so the Gatekeeper will chat to Lucion Lannister.]

    Raymar Lefford

Raymar had joined the vanguard as he thought he had to, but had found no Goldentooth men anywhere besides his own for the duration of the march. As such, the Lefford banners present were few in number and made on the move, with cloth of the relevant colours acquired during the march to the city, as Raymar had burned his own proper banners at Fang Keep prior to the raids.

He'd joined Clegane before the walls of the city to witness a damned good ignoring to by the defenders. It wasn't until a few hours had passed and Lannister banners had appeared that the defenders spoke out: clearly Aerys, or whoever commanded the defence, had deigned that answering Clegane banners was beneath him.

    Gatekeeper

"Who goes there?!" shouted the man, peering over the battlements. Troops could be seen shuffling into position behind parapets and atop towers, arrows being knocked and apprehensive eyes peering at the vast host before them. News had filtered that a major battle had happened involving the Prince, but details were scarce and contradictory: for every man that heard the Prince had died, another had heard Baratheon had been vanquished, some even said they'd joined forces to depose Aerys and put Rhaegar on the throne early.

    Harmund Lefford

Harmund had joined Lord Lannister's army with the bulk of the Lefford forces for the march to the Capitol. Arriving, they found the vanguard army sitting outside the walls and a small party of mounted men up front. Passing down the columns of men, Harmund spied some makeshift Lefford banners: Raymar must be here, or Godric, perhaps. Godric had not been heard from in months.

Reaching the front, Harmund found his first born there with Clegane, the man that Harmund had earlier refused to serve under. The two moved away from the main group to speak, as Raymar and Harmund approached each other, causing them to meet short of the main group before the gate.

"Son," said Harmund quietly while Lucion spoke to Gregor, "Good to see you. What has happened?"

"Nothing." came the bored reply, "Why weren't you in the Van? I looked for you."

"Lucion would have had me outranked by Clegane," said Harmund, met with a snort of disbelief from Raymar, "I objected, naturally. He transferred me to his own host and offered compensations. We shall discuss more later."

Raymar nodded and the two Leffords ambled up to where Lord Lannister had just received a reply from the defenders above the gate.

Lucion snorted at the response. Did he really have to repeat who he was to the Gatekeeper? Or was this man deaf as well as stupid? Lord Lannister relaxes himself for a moment before looking up at the Gatekeeper and repeating himself, this time louder than before.

[OOC: With none of the mods answering me I'm going to assume that entry is scripted. No roll will be done.]

"Wait there!" shouted the guardsman as he hurried off out of sight.

Time passed, with only the sunshine to be seen and the light breeze to be heard. Tens of thousands of troops waited, watching the closed and barred gate they'd stood in front of for the better part of an entire morning by now.

A shout. Grunts, scrapes, thuds. An ear-piercing creaking, screeching sound emanated from the door as it slowly swung open. A dozen men were visible on the other side, Goldcloaks and levied peasants, who had just moved the braces off the door and hauled it open.

King's Landing lay open to the Lannister army.

Lucion raised his hand and a flag rose. The drums were beat as the First Army began its march towards the city walls. They were marching in arrayed block formations as the Westerland soldiers made their way into the city limits. But then as the first wave began to enter, a sword was heard. Lucion stood there with his sword raised and a new flag rose in the distance. A black flag. The drums changed their tune. And the next thing the City Watch knew...spears were leveled and swords were drawn.

King's Landing is open to us! Attack! Attack in the name of Robert Baratheon!

The Westerland soldiers responded in unison and turned upon those who opened the doors to them. And with that, wave upon wave of Westerland soldiers poured in through the gate. The Sacking of King's Landing had begun.

Lucion began relaying orders to the various armies:
The First Army (Commanded by Ser Gregor Clegane) was to make directly for the Red Keep via the main roads. The Great Sept of Baelor was to be ignored along the way. Ser Gregor's objective was to secure a way to the Red Keep then begin securing the Keep at all costs.

The Second Army (Commanded by Ser Lorch) was to advance southward then east, securing gates and gatehouses along the way. Ser Lorch's objective was to secure the port of King's Landing and prevent any escapes by boat (The last wishes rp was to be done before the arrival of Westerland soldiers).

The Third Army (Commanded by Lord Lucion) was to move northward then east, securing gates and gatehouses along the way. They would then link up with Ser Gregor's Army and move to secure the Red Keep. Lord Lefford was to take a detachment of troops and ensure the security of the Great Sept.

All those surrender will be allowed to. Those who resist are to be killed.

Lord Lucion rode up to Harmund Lefford and looks around the city limits. He then points his sword along the northern edges of the city.

Secure the wall due north then east. We will link up with Ser Gregor at the Red Keep. Lord Lefford, I want you to also secure the Great Sept. I don't want that place harmed or destroyed at all. The High Septon will be grateful for our protection.

Lucion then snaps the reins of his horse and rides northward with a strong detachment from his army. Soldiers of the Third Army also scaled the walls and began securing them along the way.

Harmund drew his sword and charged down the closest street before him, his own knights at his back, crashing into a group of Goldcloaks hastily trying to organise themselves in the wake of the surprise attack. They were no match, of course, quickly melting away before the heavy charge and losing many men in the process. Some were shedding their Goldcloak armour as they fled, seemingly hoping that looking like a civilian would keep them safe.

Quickly surveying the scene, Harmund could see the gatehouse already fallen to troops that rushed the stairwells, and men pouring down every street and alleyway near the opened doors. Houses were being invaded, horns blared and drums beat, and throughout the city bells began to toll as word spread of what was happening.

Looking back to Lucion, he could see most of the Lords were still nearby, their specific orders not yet given. Harmund rode up to the Lannister.

"What would you have us do, Lord Lucion?" he asked loudly.

Lorch drew his blade, long and strong it was and metallic black like his armor - if the port was his goal he would take it. He began slicing his way through the city toward the port his men struggling to keep pace with the Manticore's bloodlust - he'd personally secure the port and any important peoples who might attempt to flee through it. Take them alive he reminded himself as he cut a man from balls to brains, Lucion wants them alive and the guts fell out on the dirt floor. He was manic in his assault but he had a purpose, no time for rape or further mayhem, he had a job to do - glories to win, besides he could always take the pretty ones later.

Edited because I didn't see my orders.

[OOC: Apparently Lorch is disobeying orders. ]

Harmund nodded, wheeling his horse back to face the crowd of soldiers.

"Knights of House Lefford! With me! To the Great Sept!" he shouted, spurring his horse through them, down the street that seemed the closest to the Great Sept, visible over the houses high on the hill.

The party rode hard through the streets, with none to stop them. What few Goldcloaks remained under arms had tried to flee to the Red Keep or returned home to protect their families: the streets were filled with Lannister men looting, raping, drinking and setting fire to things. Most of them moved out the way of the near three hundred heavy horse moving up the street at rapid pace, one or two met their ends, tramped beneath hooves.

Eventually, the force reached the Great Sept and fanned out across the huge steps leading to it. A two-deep line was quickly formed across the stairs, swords drawn and shields at the ready, to dissuade any would-be looters from targetting the holy building. The remainder quickly surrounded the Sept itself, several men being posted to every doorway to the inside.

Harmund entered the structure, accompanied by a half dozen of his closest men: Lords Pendric and Nunn, Ulfric, the Captain of his Heavy Horse, and two of the more prestigious landed Knights that held fiefs within the Lefford domain. They sought the High Septon.

The doors opened revealing as a few priests of the Sept allowed Harmund and his men to enter. The High Septon, a rather elderly and skinny male, was on the stairs, sweating from what was happening within the city. His head jerks in one direction as screams were heard. The aged man was quietly speaking prayers as a few priests offered him water and a damp cloth, trying their best to relax him. The sounds of approaching armor startled the man who turned to see Lord Lefford.

"We come not to loot," said Harmund loudly, with confidence, "Lord Lannister's actions here are what he deems necessary within the political realm, High Septon. His battle is not with the Seven, and so he sends us. Three hundred men will guard this Sept, no one inside will be harmed and nothing within will be taken. I'm here to ask that you remain within the walls until I deem it safe to leave."

At the door of the Great Sept, a loose line of knights can be seen across the doorway, providing a guard on the door should the main line at the stairs below be overwhelmed. That was, however, unlikely: few Westermen would loot the Great Sept, fewer still would fight their own kin for the opportunity.

The High Septon looks at the guards then at Lord Lefford, then back at the guards.

Then lock the door when you leave. Lock it tight. We don't want anyone to enter till this...rape of the city is over. Thank you, kind Lord. Thank Lord Lannister for knowing our importance and our value. Thank you for ensuring we won't be harmed.

The Manticore's men rushed out on Kingslanding's expansive dockyards, looting and burning and raping. With the port secured Lorch and his men began setting flame to any vessels attempting to leave port - and securing any attempting to dislodge themselves from the docks. Lorch ordered a perimeter established to capture any making their way toward the docks.

He called out for the dock-master to be brought before him, he needed to know who had come through here, who was coming through here, and who may come through here in the future. His men set about searching for this man rounding up any of those trying to escape, from squealing whores boarding fishing boats to Lords boarding galleys.

OOC Roll to see if they find the dockyards administrator and roll to see if they capture any important people trying to escape.
